It is a tougher fight than Maidana but thats about it imo.

Whether he beats him or not isn't really the point, he's arguably the best available challenger so boxing fans will want to see it.

I don't see it either but he's one of the best options out there.

I see the fight happening at some point if Thurman can get some wins together over top guys.

Has anyone on here claimed he would beat Floyd?

I think he'd give him a good fight, but Pac, Khan, Lara, Martinez, GGG are all more likely to beat Floyd.

Well it is pretty tough to see anyone beating Floyd, until it actually happens. Thurman is a quality fighter and we really have no idea on his upper limit, so while he hasn't proven anything in this regard, proving it first is not a prerequisite for being able to actually do it.

He leaves himself to wide open to green for Mayweather but will probably ask for a 145 pound catch weight just to take some pop off Thurmans punches

Thurman has gotten much better in the last 2 years, But I don't think right now he could beat floyd.

I get it that a lot of people here don't like floyd for whatever reasons but dude is one of the most skilled fighters in history. I haven't seen enough from Thurman besides power to think he would beat floyd.

Now in 2015 with floyd a year older and Thurman a year better, depending on what he does this year, it May be a closer matchup.

                  How do you know that?

Thurman is just the guy people have chosen to hype up asthe next FLoyd killer.

By this time next year if he doesn't lose people will be screaming for the fight thinking he can win it...

                  Maidana stops Thurman IMO.

Don't be ridiculous. Thurman would wipe the floor with Maidana.

He'd box Maidana's ears off for the first 8/9 rounds and stop him late on.

There's a reason Maidana ducked him.
