Leonard Ellerbe, CEO for Mayweather Promotions, says unbeaten puncher Keith Thurman (22-0, 20KOs) has yet to beat the type of opposition to secure him a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs). Both fighters work with adviser Al Haymon, but that isn't enough to get Mayweather. Thurman has already been demanding a fight with Mayweather.
Ellerbe says the young knockout artist must test himself against a higher tier of opponent. Thurman is back on April 26th, when he faces former champion Julio Diaz at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
