  • Comments Thread For: Ellerbe Feels Thurman Not Tested Enough For Mayweather

Leonard Ellerbe, CEO for Mayweather Promotions, says unbeaten puncher Keith Thurman (22-0, 20KOs) has yet to beat the type of opposition to secure him a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs). Both fighters work with adviser Al Haymon, but that isn't enough to get Mayweather. Thurman has already been demanding a fight with Mayweather.

Ellerbe says the young knockout artist must test himself against a higher tier of opponent. Thurman is back on April 26th, when he faces former champion Julio Diaz at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

What the heck happened to this website? There use to be decent content on here, now it's all articles pandering to Haymon and his boys, and god damn ellerbe.

        They're already scared.

I would bet my house and Larry's life that either Golovkin or Thurman would beat Mayweather if the fights were to happen. Without a second thought.

I wish Floyd had more than 4 fights left in him. I want to see him fight Thurman, Khan, Broner, Garcia, Matthysse, Porter, Lara.

ellerbe is right. Thruman is the real deal, the dude has skills and power. He has a couple of decent names on his resume but not enough to warrrant a floyd fight. Unfortunately for him it will be hard to secure any big names. Hopefully collazo wins and they make a fight between the two
