    Thoughts on Virgil

First thing I want to point out that NO one else has, is that their are THREE versions of Khan. Not two.

The old Khan swarms in head first with his chin in the air, and throws flurries.

The second Khan fought Molina. He was a very sharp counterpuncher, he steps to the side like a slick boxer, moves his head. Great short punches on the inside, mid-range, and outside. That fight looked like Floyd vs Gatti because of the speed, combinations, and slickness. In that fight he also got wobbles allot by Molina who is not puncher.

Now the Third Khan who fought Diaz threw one punch a round. He was not confident in his head movement at all. Instead of having the temperament to be calm, slip the punch, let it fly over your head, he would panik and try to run away and get out of range.

Allot of people forgot how sharp he was against Molina, despite having that chin tapped by a NON puncher.

I gave Virgil a chance and did not get blinded by that Diaz fight. For he had completely changed Khan for Molina.

But I think Virgil is only good with boxers. Mayfield should have made an ugly dog fight from the first round instead of getting out of range in the first round, against a taller guy. I dont think Virgil could have changed Perro at all. But again Perro is not a boxer he's a pressure fighter. He would be better off with Garcia.

Credit for training Ward and that Gonzales kid but all the rest have lost or looked dreadful.
His advice in the corner is always cringe inducing.
That creep was on between rounds, someone in the same room thought I was watching ****

I don't think he is a good trainer at all, hes an absolute weirdo who loves the sound of his own voice. Pure clown who tries being witty like Bernard Hopkins but fails.

More of a spiritual motivator or some **** than a trainer

I just think he wants to turn everyone into a midrange boxer. Everyone cant do that. He has to learn more.

It also appears as though his fighters don't respect him.

For reals. His advice in between rounds doesn't help. He sounds like a bad motivational speaker.

I was really surprised when HBO started hyping up his cornermen skills during the Mayfield-Dulorme fight. They're horrible.

Reminds me of more of a cheer leader than a Trainer.

The game plan he had for Angulo vs Canelo was terrible I think he got lucky with ward and khan looks terrible, his stable doesn't prove he's a good trainer

He was just lucky to land ward. He cant make fighters like amir khan in a defensive counter puncher like ward.

Mayfield did make it an ugly fight. He still lost. And I think hunter an average trainer. Claim to fame is Ward. He's done nothing with everyone else he has.

Virgil hasn't made his fighters better lately nor has he given great advice during fights.

He did well motivating Angulo during the Lara fight but that's only one instance. The only fighters that have fought well under him have been Ward and Gonzales. I think Hunter has been overrated due to the success of Ward but Ward is a special fighter. Hunter isn't a special trainer.

Maybe he just needs more time with his new fighters. Most of his relationships are new and still developing. The Mayfield fight makes me seriously doubt his game planning and in fight instructions.
