The people who are subscribing to HBO are not doing so entirely because of their boxing programming. It's because of their overall quality and better programming, why HBO draws much higher ratings than their closet rival; Which are mostly viewed by casual fans.

However, just from a boxing fan point of view, there's no doubt that Showtime delivers the overall better quality and better bouts as opposed to HBO. When it comes straight down to their boxing programming, they offer the better cards and match ups.

They are all highly entertaining with hardly any mismatches as opposed to their counterpart HBO; Who seems more intent on building future stars of boxing and showcasing their favorite fighters rather than televising good fights.

Since I got both in january 2012 (strictly for boxing), I can say Shotime has given me more quality. I have gotten to see more fights, more new fighters, and constant 3-4 fight cards as opposed to HBO that giving 1-2 fight cards. I have found more new up and coming fighters through Shotime than I have HBO.
