Showtime has giving us amazing fights like zab vs paulie, trout vs Lara, bhop vs ratty dude.

Showtime is owned by haymon, they'll have years of garbage in store for us. They gave a million to tarvar for his last fight. A god damn million $!

There is no way this is going good for them, there give you 3 fights in one night and 2 of them are guaranteed to be complete crap.

          This **** is sad.

5 years ago if someone would have told me that there would be HBO and Showtime stans I would've laughed my **** off. Now I can only shed a tear for what the sport has deteriorated to.

Doesn't matter who's winning, both sides are promoting boxing so it's pointless to pick a favorite. IMO, Showtime has been more consistent recently but their production value isn't as good, and the panel of commentators - aside from Maliganaggi, aren't as informed as Lampley, Kellerman, or Merchant.

I like HBO's production and commentary more, and I feel they have a much more honest approach to analyzing the fighters, the refs, and the judges, and I appreciate that.

Let's face it, a big part of the appeal to fights is the coverage, and HBO simply has the edge there.

Not only that, but they seem to have more exciting and intriguing fights.

HBO still has the top fighters fighting the top challenges. Showtime attracts a few stars that want easy fights. And I am not saying this because it is why Mayweather went over.

Exactly, and this latest Stevenson/Kovalev issue is proof of HBO's more fan friendly intent. They wanted to give the fans the fight they wanted and, in fact, were insisting on it.

Stevenson decided to be weak and take the easy road, which Showtime is happy to offer.

There has to be a victor for some people even outside the ring, so they can gloat, "See, I told you. My hero is right in his choice of network/promoter/manager."
