Adonis Stevenson Isn't That Good Nor Is His Resume

His claim to fame is a early ko win vs Dawson. Good win of course, but it told us nothing on how good he was. He landed a great shot on a cold Dawson. A Dawson who was hurt with ease by a guy with hardly any power in Ward.

Other then that who has he beat? His resume is piss poor.

Kovalevs resume while not that great either is better then Stevensons.

I'm not sold on Stevenson being that good at all. Kovalev has clearly showed to have superior skills IMO. From what we have seen of both, I'm not sure how you can deny that.

Stevenson is a little too reliant on his left hand IMO

He hit big with the Dawson ko,, he has skills and power, but he basically hit it big vs Dawson..

Much like baldomir did vs zab or mayorga did vs Forrest, Randall vs Chavez,

He is a good fighter,, but not a hall of fame caliber guy... So far in his career he has been iced by a club fighter journeymen, a bunch of solid wins over guys like George, cloud, etc.. And one career defining ko win over Dawson...

Good resume but pales in comparison to ward, serg, cotto etc...

Stevenson is the Lamon Brewster of the Light-Heavy division. Scored a miracle upset victory and will soon fade into obscurity.

That's why his handlers appear to be smart in signing him with Al haymon, to milk it for as much money as they can.

I think he is very good and a whole heap better than most are willing to admit.

Southpaw, speed, movement, 1 punch power in both hands - that is problem for any LHW.

The guy didn't even turn pro until he was 29 & IMO he is still improving/showing more and more dimensions to his game.

He is a top fighter who people hate on because of his past more so than his ability.

Not everyone has to be an ATG to be a decent fighter. Christ sakes. It's like if you defend the title more than once you're supposed to be able to give Prime Roy Jones a go.
