Again,comprehension..Yes he may have turned the tide on two poorly conditioned(this has been a knock on both fighters ther whole career)fighters..Yet he did not win either fight,cause it was too lil to late..Because he did not get confident until having any success(which came late in both fights against,again poorly conditioned fighters)..

He must have broke his hand real early in that fight..I gave him at best 2 rds..Mosley completely outclassed Collazo..

I wish I could have seen how he loss to Hernandez..Which imo is not a good look at all..

He was having success throughout each fight. Even the first round when Hatton knocked him down, he was still composed and landed good shots. You need to watch the fights again.

He did break his hand early against Mosley.

I remember scoring it 6 rounds each and Hatton winning because of the KD. Basically a draw and it certainly could have been given to Collazo.

There's a reason Ricky went back to 140lbs after that fight and it was certainly not because he "clearly outfought" Collazo

I'd have to re watch it and get back to you bro. It's been years. I remember watching it live and thinking aww damn, Collazo put in that work and is about to get shafted.

I respect that,it's been a while for me as well..I have plans to rewatch this fight later(I'm about to go out)I wanna re score it as well..I'll make sure to put my scores up..I know it turned out to be close..I just remember feeling that Collazo waited to long to turn it on..I thought he won the Berto fight,but I could not be mad at the decision(and I hate Berto,one of the only boxers I can honestly say that about)cause again..He waited a bit to long to get going..

I need to rewatch and score it again,it's been a min..I remember tho,I felt it was a lil to late for Collazo on my card..Don't remember what I scored it now tho..

I also remember Collazo had his best rd I think late in this fight,either 10 or 11 where I thought they should have counted a KD(or at least it could have been a KD,like I said it's been a while)..Early on tho,Hatton was doing damage tho,and then stated to tire..Again I might watch it back and feel something different,I was a big Hatton fan..I'm just going off memory about those fights at the moment..

I like Collazo as a boxer..I said as much early in the thread..He has very good fundamentals..When ya step ya game up tho,you have to have a fighters mentality,you know like your not going to let anyone take the play away..Which at times Collazo allows to happen..I think my c+ was a good score for his career(so far,it's not over yet),I wanna see a more confident(early on)fighter tho..The skills are there,I just wanna see the believe from the off set..

Collazo was a B guy before, now he's past it
dude was good enough to beat everyone but top guys before
he's still more known for losing to Hatton than anything else
he squandered that momentum by getting drubbed by Mosley
beating Ortiz puts him in line for another paper belt now
he can beat Khan, who's fallen off himself

I want to hope that with his new spiritual finding he is more dedicated to the sport and therefore he would improve, but he is still gatekeeper status and Khan will look impressive against him

Apart from the Hatton fight I had seen very little of Collazo. But I have been checking him out on Youtube,he is a very clever crafty fighter,steady minded and does not get overawed by big events and is capable of being a test for anyone. He has a lot going for him but is not genetically physically gifted at the highest level. The polls at this point suggest he is just above Gatekeeper level but below World Class.
