This was pretty much the only way it was ever going to go, and the fact that it is on PPV just keeps it from main eventing on Showtime. This is pretty much the best way it could have gone.

So no it meets exactly what the expectations should have been~
It's a featured fight on a PPV. So you'd expect at least someone with decent perigee at the weight, even if they aren't a big threat ala Senchenko.

This fight is a mockery to the paying fans, so Broner beats Carlos Molina inside a few rounds and what? Broner's back to his best? Who do they think they're fooling. He doesn't need to be in with a world beater, but a decent name and someone who has a remote chance of winning would do. Not a no hoper. Do you pay to watch a boxer or do you pay to watch competitive bouts? Again, this is supposed to be a featured fight on PPV.

Still even if they think he isn't that good, better to recover some hype first before throwing him to the wolves.

SO no matter what this was exactly what was going to happen first, one fight on PPV is not a huge investment on their part more like minimal investment.

It depends where you rank broner, he looked horrible in a fight he was heavily favored to win. His showings above 135 are bad. Also yes i'm comparing them because it's level of class. Gatti and Rios were not ranked so low...but Floyd and Manny are so far beyond them it's similar in my opinion.

I don't expect anything like that on PPV, infact this is exactly the sort of fight I expect to see at least one of, named guy coming in off a loss in a fight to look good.

I am not paying to see Broner anyway, he just happens to be appearing~ so it really isn't that deep.

Very. I understand they wanna get his confidence back but it's not like Molina did anything in the Khan fight to suggest this fight will anyway be interesting. Wish they had gone with Julio Diaz.

Go on YouTube and watch a Broner work out/sparring session for free if you want to see him showcase his skills.

I personally want to watch competitive fights if I'm paying for PPV. Not every fight will be 50/50, but if you're a professional fighter, a former three weight world belt holder there's a minimum standard of opponent you should be expected to face. Is a top 30 welterweight too much to ask?

Canelo lost and fought Angulo. Pacquaio lost and fought Rios. Froch has lost twice and come back against Abraham and Bute. Hopkins fought Tarver, Pavlik and Cloud all on the back of losses.

Those are the level of opposition the biggest names in boxing (whom Broner wants to be held in the same regard as) have lost and come back to fight against.

Carlos Molina by comparison is laughable.

I could give two ****s about Broner but he is coming off a humiliating devastating loss, if you expect him to be fighting someone even close to top end then that is totally your issue with not even being close to the reality which we live in.

You can want a lot of things, but wants are unlimited and meaningless. I really don't care if you don't like the fight or even the idea behind it but what exactly were you expecting that makes this some huge disappointment~

Not close to the reality we live in but I just handed you loads of examples of fighters coming off losses who still fought good opposition in their next fight?

A top 30 welterweight....,or even a welterweight...or a guy with any sort of decent professional pedigree isn't beyond the realms of plausibility here. I'm not asking Broner to square off against Matthyssee, but an opponent with name value, and pedigree fit for televised PPV boxing isn't too much to ask is it?

PPV is supposed to be a marquee event. Broner v Molina would struggle to draw viewers on Friday Night Fights.
