This match-up has absolutely no redeeming qualities. I'm sure the matchmakers know that, and they couldn't care less. Molina is a cost-effective opponent; he'll present little-to-no threat and he comes cheap. Additionally, my assumption is that (casual) fans primarily buy a Mayweather PPV to see Mayweather, so having a stacked under-card isn't a necessity.

Agreed. Canelo/Angulo was just as bad. Fans shouldn't have to shell out $70 for that crap.

you're comparing this fight to pac-rios and floyd-gatti???? you do realize that carlos molina is probably not even in the top 50??? carlos molina has literally beaten nobody and has won nothing, and hasnt fought in 2 years. this is far worse.

Angulo/Rios/Gatti are 1000x more accomplished fighters than Carlos Molina.

This guy shouldn't be showcased on national television. It was a crap fight for Khan and it's a crap fight for Broner.

As I said, he's not even fit to be Broner's sparring partner. He has beaten nobodies, literally absolute nobodies, club fighters, not ranked contenders, not fringe contenders or not even has beens. Just nobodies.

Senchenko would have been a better opponent, or why not Andre Berto? In fact any top 30 welterweight in the world. Not an unranked lightweight/light welterweight.

What was anyone expecting for Broner's next fight based on how he got totally humiliated~

This was pretty much the only way it was ever going to go, and the fact that it is on PPV just keeps it from main eventing on Showtime. This is pretty much the best way it could have gone.

So no it meets exactly what the expectations should have been~

I completely agree!!! Those guys have fought good competition and i know rios has held a title and i think gatti has held atleast two. im not saying a belt makes you this great fighter but carlos molina has done NOTHING!! i mean nothing at even a subpar level of competition!! this is clearly a confidence fight for broner, and GBP is kidding themselves trying to act like this is a good fight for ab

yeah true but whati was thinking they might do, was come to a realization that broner is not that good.. and had two options.. build him back up and invest a lot of time and money building him back up. or just cash him out once or twice more and use him as a name on one of GBP other bright stars.... danny thurman etc
