Why do ppl passionately defend manny/floyd?

I think the hatred is so over the top it turns them into sympathetic figures in my mind. Floyd more so than Manny but Manny too. People actually make threads about Floyd and Manny ducking guys 2 weight classes heavier. I mean it's rediculous.

It's the same as any sport......why does someone like the Indians, Jaguars, or Pacers? They connect to them somehow and defend it to the death, I have a friend who loves indiana teams and will go nuts if you bash them....and he's not from there.
