P.S.: One week difference should not kill the fight, I don't see how that's even remotely close to being an issue, unless the next week is a May or Pac fight or some other big superstar fighting that would hinder JCC-GGG viewership/PPV.

I dont think gggs people sent Chavez an offer at all. Like the article said Arum made Chavez an offer. The money will come out of the ppv proceeds, and if no ppv hbo is bankrolling itIt's actually worse than what you just described. GGG did say he'd fight any one from 154-175, Ward said 'let's do it, send an offer, I don't see any offers', but his trainer said he's not ready for Ward. Then GGG's people made TR/Chavez Jr an offer, and Arum/Chavez took it. No offer was ever made to Andre Ward or his team/promoter by GGG's people, ever.
So it's a bit worse than what you said.
With that said, GGG-JCC is a more even fight. JCC is a SMW by size, but not by resume. Vera was a MW coming up just like Chavez Jr. So in reality Chavez Jr is 0-0 against actual Super Middleweights, and GGG is also 0-0 vs SMW's. So it evens out. Besides, anyone with half a bran cell knows who would get the W in Ward-GGG, better to give GGG and his fans some false hope at 168 by beating JCC, if he could do that.Comment

Thats just a technical term they use to express there freedom(kazakhstani),they used tobe under the russian empire as one union..same thing with the klitchkos there ukraniun but they were considered russians before the soviet union split up.Comment

So any country that was part of the Ottoman empire should still be called turkish?
GGG is actually half russian and half korean.Comment

If Ward was serious about fighting Golovkin he would have called him out and said he wanted the bout, but he never did, it was always ambiguous stuff like "down the line", "if they want it", "I'm open to anyone". He just didn't like people saying he was avoiding Golovkin, but that's not the same thing as saying he wanted the bout. It's actually worse than what you just described. GGG did say he'd fight any one from 154-175, Ward said 'let's do it, send an offer, I don't see any offers', but his trainer said he's not ready for Ward. Flomos tried to twist it because they know their boy wouldn't come within 400 metres of Golovkin in a boxing ring. Many of them do the same thing with Thurman, saying he needs to move up 154.
It's all nonsense, Ward wanted Chavez and Golovkin got him because Ward is beefing with his promoter and Arum doesn't like working with Goossen.Last edited by Weebler I; 03-28-2014, 09:36 PM.Comment
