WBC middleweight champion Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) has brought back experienced coach Russ Abner to his corner, after a near two year absence. Martinez is putting his corner together for the upcoming defense against former three division champion Miguel Angel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) on June 7th at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Abner will be in charge of wrapping Martinez's hands. He was absent from Martinez's corner for the fights with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 2012 and Martin Murray in 2013. Martinez suffered a left hand injury in the Murray bout and wants to avoid suffering any type of injury against Cotto.
