Its a real stinker of a duck. The noises coming from Stevenson in relation to Kovalev have not sounded good at all.

He's not ducking him.....All the dumb posters were saying Garcia was ducking Matthyse just because he didn't sign the contract to fight him within 5 seconds and look what happened....Danny took his time, eventually signed it and then exposed Matthyse for the foreign hype job that he is.

I'm sure Adonis will fight Sergey when the time is right....Fighters have to worry about whats best for them...not what some moron on boxing scene forum who works at Taco bell thinks.

I guarantee you that Adonis will fight Sergey sometime soon. He just isn't going to put his entire life on hold to fight some unproven Russian fighter. He will sign when he's ready which should be within 6 months- one year.

#1. Sounds crazy but the way this duck was executed was a work of art.

This duck changed the way ducking will take place in the future. I think this duck needs a new name because of how it revolutionized boxing. I call it "strategic avoidance".

It all started last year. Stevenson beat Dawson and was the new champ. But Kovalev was coming on like a monster. He beat Cleverly and Campillo.

At first, Stevenson tried the classic duck line "Kovalev needs to build his name up and beat more champions first"

        Nobody bought into it.

Next he tried the new era duck line "the fans want to see Froch and Hopkins"

        Nobody bought into it.

At this stage, he realized classic duck methods could not save him. So this guy ran to Alt Haymon., and used the cold war to strategically avoid a fighter he wanted no part of.

This strategic avoidance is a 10/10 and the first of its kind.

Made a money move, just that.

HBO saves some money on paying for a build up without a guarantee, Stevenson gets his money from Showtime.

Hope he doesn't expect Hopkins to take the smaller cut

It really is a legendary duck, the complexity of it all which is why I think it's clearly a top ten ATG duck. It's even above Joe Calzaghe getting "injured" three separate occasions to avoid Glen Johnson.

Get some nuts ffs. You business before boxing types are a relatively new annoyance to the sport who have come about as a result of getting a massive Boner over Floyd Mayweathers antics. Boxing fans want to see the best fight the best, the fighters know this and are supposed to want the same.

Shut up you keyboard assassin...Go jerk off to GGG's poster or something...

Just because Stevenson isn't literally dropping everything in his life to sign the contract doesn't mean he is "ducking"..You probably thought Garcia was ducking Matthyse when he waited a little bit of time before signing and you probably now can't pay your mortgage after betting on Matthyse!

Stevenson has been on record plenty of times saying he WILL fight Sergey....No one would go on public record that blatantly and then duck. He has said numerous times he will fight Sergey and I'm sure it will happen within the year....He's doing the right thing and sometimes impressing some loser Taco bell employee like yourself and doing the right thing for ones career don't always match up.

No one is ducking anyone...Stevenson has a fight coming up in May and I'm sure after that he will look into ending Kovalev's hype....Which is getting more and more absurd by the day....If not he will take on Hopkins (who is an even harder fight than Sergey) and then Kovalev after that......Nothing to do with ducking anyone you idiot.

Bowe ducked Lewis but lost his title in the process.

Stevenson found a way to remain champion, execute his strategic avoidance and still have a chance to unify 2 more alphabet titles without fighting the guy who most boxing heads feel is the best fighter in his division.

All of the ducks throughout boxing history must have tears in their eyes.
