Apparently pricing yourself out is considered a network reject. Adonis wanted much more to fight Kovalev than what he's going to get for Hopkins. Those were his own words.

Yes. Because once they did, they asked HBO for more to match it and HBO refused, saying they believed an agreement was already done.

Nah man, HBO simply didn't match Showtimes high bid of the Stevenson vs Polish/Chicago kid's fight. We don't know what HBO would have paid for Stevenson vs Kovalev (I have a hard time imagining Stevenson would pocket more money against Hopkins).

I'm not saying Adonis isn't happy he gets to avoid Kovalev for now, but I believe this primarily business.

I believe it's a business decision too (to stay healthy).

Let me start by saying I hate Stevenson and love Kovalev. Saying that;

1) Taking an easier fight for more money is the right move by Stevenson. These guys are prizefighters, they go where the money is.

2) The pressure for him to take the fight is still there. Kovalev just needs to go hard and trash him in the media every time. Being up his criminal changes in every post fight interview, Say he's going to **** Stevenson the way Stevenson ****d young girls, etc.

This duck changed the way ducking will take place in the future. I think this duck needs a new name because of how it revolutionized boxing. I call it "strategic avoidance".

It all started last year. Stevenson beat Dawson and was the new champ. But Kovalev was coming on like a monster. He beat Cleverly and Campillo.

At first, Stevenson tried the classic duck line "Kovalev needs to build his name up and beat more champions first"

Nobody bought into it.

Next he tried the new era duck line "the fans want to see Froch and Hopkins"

Nobody bought into it.

At this stage, he realized classic duck methods could not save him. So this guy ran to Alt Haymon., and used the cold war to strategically avoid a fighter he wanted no part of.

This strategic avoidance is a 10/10 and the first of its kind.

Top 25 ATG duck I reckon. I mean, to hire Al Haymon to get you to a rival network for the sole purpose of avoiding another fighter is pretty damn impressive.

Where do you rank Kovalev ducking Hopkins in favor of fighting Cleverly?That`s what you call a duck.Choosing to fight an all time great Hopkins over a johnny come lately Kovalev,whose ranked below Hopkins is not a duck.Kolalev being the mandatory for Hopkins but choosing the mediocre Cleverly instead is a quack loud enough to know that its a duck.
