If you say you think that ok, but I don't agree. Their limits strictly talking their network budget no PPV I think are very close now as HBO has been shrinking theirs year over year while Showtime has been growing theirs.

To me that shows one getting more involved while the other is shrinking, to me that is worrisome but hey maybe I am wrong this is certainly something I would not want to be right about. I enjoy boxing on both networks so I hope both continue to invest in the sport

The guys you attracted are hardcore TR fanboys. Two posters in particular, who were very vocal in this thread, felt Canelo-Angulo was fixed.

Yea I know who they are, and I knew it would attract that sort hell some of those dudes love to try and get after me. I wanted to see who would actually read it and understand what I was saying, some people surprised me (good and bad) others I got exactly what I thought I would.

The signs are there. Hbo will eventually back out of the boxing business. Slowly but surely. Everybody saying "network fanboys" who gives a sh!! Hbo boxing telecast,face offs and 24-7s are bad a$$ so whatever. Still won't cancel my subscription. Especially with some all time great fn shows like sopranos and can't forget that classic series's THE WIRE. Still mad omar never got to take out Marlo tho.

I don't blame HBO for cutting their investment. Too much in-fighting between promoters, fighters overpricing their worth, the shaky nature of Boxing's future post Pacquiao and Mayweather, the rise of other combat sports stealing away some of the market audience. Too much uncertainty to make a smart investment.

As sad as it is to say, unless we have some revolutionary changes in the way the sport is run, Boxing will begin to die a slow death.

HBO is a great network who makes all kinds of great things, I personally liked Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The new one about the computer nerds looks pretty funny but yea they turn out quality programming, there ain't no denying that. The funny thing is boxing helped build HBO but now HBO is essentially outgrowing boxing which sucks for us boxing fans because they have great production values and that great reputation.

I kind of get this impression as well, but without numbers (where would we of the peanut gallery even get them?) it's tough to speculate. Is it possible that HBO's investment is remaining static and Showtime is steadily upping it's budget?

I'm sure the bottom line is the bottom line and HBO's perception of it in the context of their entire business.

Btw, your first post was clear. You have no wish for one or the other to fold (nor does anybody that is actually fan of the sport, I would think). There must be some other issue that's drawing you hecklers.
