Showtime just had their 2nd best year in their history. The production is better now. Bringing in Paulie was a good move. Showtimes putting up good numbers. Espinosa seems to be doing better than the last guy they had. Plus Golden Boy has most of the young talent out there.
Is Espinoza going to lead Showtime to ruin?

It will still put up good numbers. At or around a mil. Would have done maybe another 500k if it weren't for the fact that his ppv fight is being sandwiched by 2 better ppv fights. Pac/Bradley in April and Cotto/Martinez in June.Comment

I really enjoy everything ShowTime does as far as production and their broadcast team. They took a lot of what HBO was good at and improved on it. Only thing HBO still has the edge on is camera work.
There has always been bad PPVs. At least ShowTime is putting on good fights for the most part. Can't say the same for some of the stiff we used to see on HBO.Comment

Some of you guy are Such b!t ches and f@ggöts. Showtime has been putting on better fights Rating are up comparable to HBO and you guys are complaining that your worried CBS might lose some money, Really they can make that up with a couple commercials during NFL playoffs this is pocket change to CBS.
Seriously some of you guys and I use that term loosely need to grow some balls
You guys look like straight lösers just admit your mad and salty with the fact Mayweather, Haymon, Espinoza & Shaffer are having a good year and killing it and most of you are immature, envious and are hoping for them to lose that's why your mad.
It just seems like so many people on this board obsesses over Mayweather/Haymon and anyone associated with them losing that it consumes most of their existence. Get a LIFEComment

That could've been the pitch. And maybe they'll try to bring Kovalev in later.Haymon signing Stevenson was really smart though. He's essentially guaranteed to have an undisputed lhw champ sorted out between Shumenov, Hopkins and Stevenson.
He probably pitched that SHO to get them to outpay HBO for the Fonfara fight.
Besides, maybe Espinoza is just acting as an inside man at the network. If he gets fired he'll just go back to GBP or the Haymon, Schaeffer, Mayweather, Ellerbe promo co.
But it doesn't go against the OP's argument that it'll hurt showtime in the long run.
Espinoza will be fine regardless. Dude's a lawyer.
Showtime is forking out the money and taking most of the risk. They're the ones we're talking about. I just hope they do some more investing in guys under 30.Comment

I think a lot of us like CBS investing money into boxing. Regardless of who's making it. The concern comes from the feeling that they might, just might stop pumping the same money into showtime boxing if they aren't getting a good enough return. Some of you guy are Such b!t ches and f@ggöts. I think it will do around 800k
I'll be shocked if it doesn't 1 million. I was hoping for a better undercard and there's like 3 Mexican fighters on the card. Should've thrown Mares on the cardComment

Yeah. Fact that Espinoza is only doing business with one promoter should effectively disqualify him as the head of Showtime sports. There's something fishy going on in the background.Comment
