    The man should be fired.

"They have a guy [Stephen Espinoza] in charge of Showtime Sports, he signed Mayweather; if you're a subscriber for Showtime, what the hell difference does it mean to you? Mayweather isn't on Showtime, he's on pay-per-view. If you have a subscription, you can't see a Mayweather fight on Showtime. It's ridiculous." - BA
Floyd probably told them not to do business with 50. B1cth ass mofos do **** like that.

lots of people at golden boy and showtime are probably going to jail soon. hopefully he has good lawyers and a good alibi. he will probably play the "i had no idea what was going on" card.

        Showtime should have hired Greenburg.

        -----

"I can't tell you that pay-per-view helps the sport because it doesn't. It hurts the sport because it narrows our audience, but it's a fact of life. Every time we try to make an HBO World Championship Boxing fight, we're up against mythical pay-per-view numbers. HBO doesn't make a lot of money from pay-per-view. There's usually a cap on what we can make. But the promoters and fighters insist on pay-per-view because that's where their greatest profits lie."

They will, if showtime falters, they will pull the plug like they did with that mma company they opened up with Gary Shaw running it. Fighters will have no choice but to go to HBO, espn, Fox and Nbc.

All these fighters signing with AL better hope he can play a good game. If showtime pulls the plug and HBO is the only network with its deep pockets, they themselves may turn AL back...

I don't even know why these fighters are signing up with Haymon. Showtime's initial investment is all used up. They had hoped to make truckloads of money off of Mayweather fights. They didn't. The only ones who made truckloads of money were the Greedy Team.

Berto-type of deals at HBO are over for Haymon. Showtime's pockets are not as deep as HBO's.

This, is AL selling them the dream that he can lead them to Mayweather riches as well??

                  We don't know the numbers.

.. I do feel that they've taken bigger risks than the rewards merit. This Adonis fight, for example, has showtime over paying for what appears to be a tune up, in order to set up a super fight (?) with Hopkins (lol).

remember zuffa bought out showtime with strikeforce. So I imagine a lot of that money went straight to mayweather.

Haymon signing Stevenson was really smart though. He's essentially guaranteed to have an undisputed lhw champ sorted out between Shumenov, Hopkins and Stevenson.

He probably pitched that SHO to get them to outpay HBO for the Fonfara fight.

Besides, maybe Espinoza is just acting as an inside man at the network. If he gets fired he'll just go back to GBP or the Haymon, Schaeffer, Mayweather, Ellerbe promo co.
