Stevenson-Kovalev in jeopardy

I'm positive that Stevenson would make MUCH more money in a Kovalev fight. That's the fight everyone wants to see, and it would do great PPV numbers.
If Kovalev gets a few more solid wins under his belt, this fight could be even bigger.Comment

Triple G who is another mainstay on hbo, last fight was not on the network and no other network could make a bid for it. So why would Adonis contract be different. If so hbo needs to lock up there talent better no excuse for letting showtime take you're top talent. Maybe hbo is just saying f it let them pay big money if they want.He does. But the way these contracts usually work is there is a clause that if HBO refuses he can seek alternative bidders. That's probably the case here. HBO probably has a certain period of time to match Showtime's offer and if they can't match it, he is free to take the higher bid.Last edited by Chiboxing123; 03-24-2014, 06:46 PM.Comment

um he's fighting fonfarra right now instead of kovalev. you think he's making as much fighting fonfarra as he would to fight kovalev? no. so he chose to make less and that's not ducking? then when he avoids a fight to possibly make more in some hypothetical future matchup he's not ducking either. so when is a guy ducking? apparently never.
fighting cloud for less=not ducking
fighting bellew for less=not ducking
fighting fonfarra for less=not ducking
not fighting kovalev for more=he's waiting for a future hypothetical matchup. not duckingLast edited by daggum; 03-24-2014, 06:49 PM.Comment

Probably a different contract. Stevenson probably has better lawyers. HBO has a matching right:Triple G who is another mainstay on hbo, last fight was not on the network and no other network could make a bid for it. So why would Adonis contract be different. If so hbo needs to lock up there talent better no excuse for letting showtime take you're top talent. Maybe hbo is just saying f it let them pay big money if they want.

Very good chance (and I think likely) Stevenson-Fonfara winds up on @SHOsports, which offered more than @HBOboxing. HBO has a matching rightComment

It's not like he's choosing between kov and fondarra for the May 24 date. It's hbo or show time. Not kov or fonfarra. Not sure what's so hard to understandum he's fighting fonfarra right now instead of kovalev. you think he's making as much fighting fonfarra as he would to fight kovalev? no. so he chose to make less and that's not ducking? then when he avoids a fight to possibly make more in some hypothetical future matchup he's not ducking either. so when is a guy ducking? apparently never.

No no buddy, I just used your logic. You claim Adonis had no problem with the money he was making with previous opponents and now all of a sudden wants big money. The same way certain fighters had an issue with random testing and all of a sudden after getting put to sleep, wants random testing. Spin it my man, spin it lolComment

Arreola isn't fighting on HBO anymore. His last fight was on Showtime, his next will be on the ESPN network.Comment

I wonder if showtime ends up carrying the fight, will it break the contract with hbo then. Maybe it would be on a 1 fight basis then we could get kovalev vs Adonis next still? Lol I laughed at typing that last sentence. Any clues bro on how that would work out?Comment
