I think a fit Solis potentially is a top 3 HW.

However, when was the last time we saw that? I can't recall ever seeing Solis in shape in the pro ranks.

The reality of Solis is a cigar smoking beer chugging lay about who has traded on his amateur success in order to live it up and occasionally fight to keep his benefactors onside. Even against Vitali he was a fat pie and if you're not going to train for a devestating fighter like Vitali Klitschko then you're certainly not going to put in the miles against anybody else.

Physical talent is meaningless without motivation.

I don't think I've ever felt more disappointed as a fan. The talent is still there and it's obvious. But the motivation is missing. This was a very disappointing result.

Good thinking, bro. I stopped having real hope for Solis even before the Vitali fight. Although I expected him to beat the 42 year old Thompson, I preferred, instead, to head over to my neighbor's house for a barbecue. I'm glad I "missed" watching this embarrassment losing to Tony. I can only feel bad for someone that tried and fell short, not for someone that's pissed away God-given talent. Gamboa is hovering precariously over that same cliff.

Solis needs to consider another career

Solis should become a chef. He's got food on the mind.

Wasn't a horrible fight to say the least but Solis definitely blew it. He might want to find a day time job. I can sort of see what you mean with Gamboa, however it's a completely different situation.

Maybe I'm being too harsh on Gamboa. He made some ****** career moves, but his desire isn't in question. I'm just very frustrated with him. As for Solis, fuck him. I gave up hope, where he's concerned, years ago. The guy is just beyond sympathy.

Solis is the most talented Cuban behind Rigo. More talented than Lara and Gamboa. Which makes this loss painful because he's that good.

I watched some of his amateur fights the other day and I've haven't seen someone his size who had such amazing footwork. I mean the best footwork from a heavyweight I've seen in a long time. He was 200 lbs in the amateurs. He's heavier now and he can't use his legs as much. Plus he had surgery on his knee.

the judges scores were shady, Solis won no more than three rounds, but at least the right man won
Solis is still a decent fighter in my book though just got beat by a more seasoned fighter who kept outworking him the cheap way..
