    Sergio Martínez ***8207;@maravillabox
@boxingscene I never said that and even less if we know that he is out because a disgrace. Someone misinformed you.

@maravillabox This interview was videotaped, and tape recorded by the writer, unless your translator got it wrong.

It's not until they step up vs other top fighters with experience under the big lights and big fights that we find out who they REALLY are.

Martinez has been there with the guys he's fought at their respective points in their careers. Golovkin hasn't just yet. But he looks good so far vs his competition.
        Well stated.

GGG claims he is the best from 154-168...he said that himself. Sure GGG deserves his shot. Martinez also deserves his shot at a big money fight after all his years of service, especially since he has been out of the ring for over a year. He'll come calling GGG after he fights Cotto, he already said that was his plan.

Did Golovkin say he was the best from 154-168? I thought he just said he'd fight anybody in that weight range. Martinez does deserve a tuneup/money fight. Hopefully afterwards he fights Golovkin.

people act like Golovkin is known

Golovkin is almost unknown in the spanish speaking world and if you noticed this interview is from Notifight.com which is in SPANISH!

so what Martinez said was exactly true to the audience he was speaking to.

A poster named PBP feels that GGG belongs in the top 10 P4P list because of how good he is hypothetically. ESPN put GGG at #8 and I disagreed, PBP says he belongs there.

Imagine that, hypothetical wins get you in the top 10 P4P. Forget Carl Froch, Danny Garcia, Canelo Alvarez, etc. who all have better wins. Even Wlad was put below GGG. They hype turned into a joke basically.

                  Here's the video.

Translator tell him HBO wants to push a fight with Golovkin and asks him why it hasn't happened yet. Martinez says "Probably because Golovkin has to continue gaining territory to arrive at a position where we find ourselves, for example today [referring to the big press conference with Cotto] In a position where for example Miguel Cotto and Mayweather find themselves."
