I think this fight will have a lot of action, including some knockdowns and/or a KO.

A boring fight favors Mayweather's style while an exciting fight favors Maidana's. Expect Mayweather to try to make it boring and Maidana was chosen so he could.

Floyd wasnt prime mentally or from a strength standpoint. He's physically just a much much stronger guy then the one Hatton faced and mentally he's much more stable. You have to remember that the Oscar fight was just 1 fight before that so it was just his 2nd fight on the mega stage. He's way more comfortable now. If he had that Hatton fight now it would look totally different which is why you dont see anyone doing that to him, especially if he fights smart

i didnt mention pacman. so get a grip yeh.

why dont you ask my opinion before you say im ok with pac doing this that and the other. you dont have a fcuking clue what i think about that!!!
What's the fact he beat him got to do with his size? Floyd beat Canelo and Canelo will likely fight at 160 regularly in the future. Should Floyd?

What does their height and reach have to do with anything? Does that determine their size? Celestine Caballero is taller and has a longer reach than both.

Point is, your reasoning of "Cotto is fighting Martinez so why can't Mayweather?" Is just ******.

I'm assuming you'd be ok with that but the reason I used it as an example is just to further show why it's a ****** reasoning.

it'll look like a rigondeaux fight, (just not as masterful). i guess some people enjoy those types of fights.

the only way it would be exciting is if a fighter throws and pressures effectively, like cotto or hatton did.

maidana doesn't have the footwork or handspeed to do that, it will be another boring fight.

if you are clearly too good for the guys that are your size and you dont want to fight an ageing pacman, then find bigger trees to chop. nobody wants to watch fights that are not competitive. why not dare to be great? if cotto can fight sergio then why cant floyd? floyd is supposedly better than cotto?

It is better to try and fail than it is not to try. Look at joe calzaghe, retired undefeated, but he doesnt get much credit for it because he didnt fight the best.
I agree with all of this. Floyd is too strong for ww. But Marcos probably deserves the fight more than everyone you named. He is coming off the greatest win at the moment. Broner was kind of a big deal.

Floyd is coming to win it's as simple as that if it takes going toe to toe he will do that or being boring all he cares about is winning.

the bottom line is, mayweather should be the 1 going for the middleweight title, not cotto. im sick of so called boxing fans that come up with excuses as to why they shouldnt do this that and the other.

mayweather is the welteweight champ, and also the super welterweight champ, why not go on to the next? who wouldnt want to see the welterweight champ who is also widely regarded as the best fighter on the planet, fight the middleweight champ? its sure as hell better than fighting a guy like chino. no disrespect to chino, but mayweather vs martinez is a much better fight.

If Floyd was fighting Sergio next he would be cherry picking him because of his knee surgeries and over a year long layoff and he should fought him in 2011 that's what would said or why isn't he fighting GGG instead who is supposed to be the real Middleweight champ.
