GTFOH Earl! You were once a deonatay wilder skeptic, now you seem to be his biggest fan! Do you ever find a middle ground with things? The only chance he's got against Wlad is to land early and I don't think that's gonna happen. I wanna see this fight but only to watch wlad put on a Muhammad Ali type masterclass.

for reasons of inexperience in these situations, wlad beats him.

shame that al haymon and schaefer seem to think a fighters career is all about a padding a guys unbeaten record and then securing a big fight they can cash in on and then the fighter takes a big hit in confidence.
thats not what haymon and shaeffer are doing at all. do you know who deontay wilder is? kid is raw, he may have won an olympic medal but he only had 20 something amateur fights. he needs to learn on the job, they arent padding his record they are giving him a chance to learn how to fight like any good manager/promoter would with a fighter which such a limited amateur background and skill set.

The thing about that, when a promoter starts padding a record sometimes they don't know when to stop, especially when a fighter has fans and sometimes a entire country behind him, all they see is easy money for no risk.

          this..

His is gonna run into someone who eats his shots and keeps coming, that is when we see what he is really is. At present we know he can punch like a mule and has some offensive tools but not a whole lot more. If boxing was only about punching with power Randall Bailey would have never lost a fight.

            Good post.

As I have said many times here...Wilder is absolutely being managed correctly. He has been matched correctly for an inexperienced HW with raw power. Wilder is a beast but needs fights vs more experienced fighters. That is what he has been getting for the past 16 months now. He just destroys them.

Wilder is must see tv at this point.

Wilder vs Vladdy KO or any other elite HW= BIG $$$

Michael grant had beaten some decent HWs & won an eliminator in a good fight with golota. grant was ready & earned it. he steadily progress & his competition got better. wilder is going from C level to A. grant fought ross purity, ray anis, jeff wooden, al cole, lionel butler, ahmed abdin, Jorge luis gonzalez who were all C level journeymen & also fought 3 gatekeepers in obed Sullivan, david izon & lou savarese before he fought in a WBC eliminator fight with Andrew golota. he stayed busy & fought guys who could go rounds with him. Michael grant was never going to be more ready then he was. Rahman had 10 amateur fights but was stepping up in his 15th fight. wilder has starched a couple C level guys including a former title holder. I was surprised how easily he got liakhovich out of there but he never really had a good chin & had been relatively inactive the last 5 years. malik scott was a gift eliminator. it should have been someone much higher rated in my opinion. we will soon see what he is made of but I see another seth Mitchell more then the next great HW...

But it was record padding when Canelo and Chavez Jr did it? It's record padding when Gary Russell Jr does it? But Wilder gets a pass?

This is a joke. The guy is a certified bum. I'd give half a round and Mike Perez/David Haye has him spark out looking up at the lights.

Look at it this way, he's worse that David Price

Wilder only won a bronze medal in the Olympics. Not gold, not even silver, but bronze. Apparently, he couldn't run through those amateur Olympians like he's running through these bum "pros". Two words come to mind right now to describe Wilder: Hyped & Untested. Talk to me when he's beaten someone who f'ing matters.
