I'm not sure we'll ever know for certain how old the girl was.
She was 13. From the Review-Journal article:

Molina was charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child in 2001 and was convicted the next year, records show. Molina, then 18, was accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl in Outagamie County, Wisc., according to an arrest report obtained Friday by the Review-Journal. The girl told police she was at her home with a friend when her friend invited her boyfriend, a man identified in the report as Jaime, to the victim’s home. Molina, who didn’t know either of the girls, accompanied Jaime, the report said.

Molina later began kissing the victim, who told police she initially wanted nothing to do with Molina. But the victim’s friend “wanted her to go along with kissing Carlos so that Carlos would not leave,” the report said. The victim and Molina later had sex, which Molina told police lasted about 40 minutes.

“(The victim) stated that she did not really want to have sexual intercourse with Carlos, but just went along with it anyway,” the report said.

But Molina didn't get busted for jay walking; he took advantage of a young girl when he was legally an adult. Perhaps your view would be different if it were your daughter.

A lot of boxers nowadays act like fools with no apparent repercussions and this guy (who actually has seemingly been able to turn his life around) gets jailed just days prior to one of the biggest nights of his career. He definitely appeared to do good things with his "borrowed" time.

Molina had been deported, so he shouldn't have even been in this country. Further, part of the consequences of his crime was to register as a sex offender. Of course if he did that, it would probably have been discovered that he wasn't supposed to be here. So he blew it off and it all came back to haunt him. The takeaway lesson? Once one turns 18, there are no excuses. Obey the law, or suffer the consequences for your actions, perhaps for the rest of your life.

Thanks for the link, Dave. I was obviously unaware of that article. I was hoping that I could find a link to the actual arrest report the story cites. I've seen a couple of the court documents from Molina's case, and there was no mention of the victim's age. I've had more than one first-hand experience of how journalists often misreport facts. Seeing the AR for myself would make me much more confident in the reported age. If the victim's age was in fact only 13, Molina is a dirtbag.

There were a lot of rumors that the girl was fifteen, which made Molina's actions palatable to some people -- providing the girl consented, of course. Now it appears she was 13 and was taken advantage of. In our society, I don't think an eighteen year old's actions can be defended in this case. Whether anyone thinks it's fair or not, the consequences of Molina's actions will follow him forever. The repercussions are already huge. Molina's career and reputation have taken a big hit.

My pleasure. And yeah, you could try either the local police department or the courthouse, though I know that many courts require you to be there in person to get the documents.

Now that the "truth" is out, where are all of those posters that were defending him?

                      Free Molina!!

Can't wait to see him in the ring again, hopefully he can clear things up soon.

It's not very often we see a prime Sweet Pea/SRL-like fighter so I appreciate his ring work.
