  • He has the right idea. You have a greater chance of landing a bulls-eye by throwing 5 darts rather than 1. Most fighters do the wrong thing against fast fighters: they stand on the outside and throw few punches. You have to do the opposite - get close or mid-range and throw a lot of punches.

I can promise you he will come forward and throw no matter what happens.
Let's bet.. All points that Maidana will get countered and get discouraged... This will happen

            • that's fine. put in a few rabbit punches and a couple "unintentional" low blows and he might just have a chance. mayweather is one dirty dude with all those elbows and it's about time someone gave him a dose of his own medicine

Porter managed to maintain a pretty active punch output when he was beating up Alexander, even with all of Alexander's excessive clinching.

Why couldn't Maidana even manage half of that effort, m8?

because the ref let the action go in the porter fight, devon was not being rewarded for holding by having the ref jump into separate. we saw this in hatton-floyd with joe cortez. and in khan-maidana with cortez again.

also maidana trained himself for that fight!!

                  • Maidana can bring a bat to the ring if he wants to. It won't matter. Floyd is going to knock his ass out.

I get the analogy, but you're way oversimplifying it. It's not easy to corner Mayweather. Plus if you're noticing a pattern then it must be for a reason. It's easy for all of us to say what a guy should or shouldn't do when we aren't the one's getting punched in the face.
