It's the safest fight available to him. Shawn Porter and Paulie are fighting. So that leaves Peterson, Thurman, Alexander, can't think of anyone else.

if khan doesn't take on a tough fight than khan won't get the floyd fight....lately floyd has only fought guys coming off good/great wins.

Thurman is way too risky, and Floyd would not fight Thurman if he wins.

This is also why Garcia is taking it easy right now. Next two opponents are already planned out.
Khan-Collazo isn't a safe fight at all. A loss or even a poor showing with Collazo would be devastating for his chances in the sweepstakes.

I don't see why GBP doesn't just try to rekindle the Khan-Alexander matchup since the Broner fight won't happen.

a rematch with paulie is the only way he doesn't get TKO'd again, maybe josesito lopez, but he is trapped because those aren't names that will grant you a mayweather fight

Honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Josesito beat Khan

khan isnt fighting floyd in sep religious reasons..

richard has said he'll need a couple of wins at 147

so he will be fighting at least twice this year and trying to land a floyd fight in 2015 next may

he'll probably take on a decent opponent for his first fight at 147 and if he wins then will fight someone high risk...although i doubt it will be thurman, even guys like maidana have ducked thurmann

i think porter vs khan end of 2014...as long as porter is still champ

Thurman would definitely knock Khan out. He has boxing ability and power
He will time Amir and put him away

this fight would be wildly exciting. holy crap would it be fun. sign me up. this fight is a main event on showtime on its own.

thurman via knockout in 6 rounds. maybe four.

nobody want to fight Thurman he's high risk low reward, thats why Maidana ducked him, GBP has to offer big money for someone to fight
