About Ponce? Ponce has never been a headliner in his whole career, not that he is not a quality fighter who I am sure some people enjoy as he has been around a long time and has been in some interesting fights.

So I don't see how he really helps sales that much unless he is fighting someone like Mares, Ponce against a solid opponent is a small selling point (the solid opponent would likely be a bigger selling point) I guess but against Eduardo Escobedo I don't think Ponce adds anything in terms of sales.

You missed the point! Mexican holiday.... Ponce is Mexican. Hell, most Mexican casual fans will pay for any ppv with a Latino on that day. Doesn't even have to be Mexican.

dude, people dont just buy the floyd ppvs just to see him. usually all of floyds ppvs have to have a good undercard. people pay to be entertained and enjoy the fights. if floyd was so popular he wouldnt be fightin on cinco de mayo or sep 15th. he would be the star he is and fight on the msg, but he dont because even his own fans dont buy his ppv.

How many of those people would have bought the card anyway, Ponce is probably only responsible for his close friends and family buying the fight.

Canelo is a star he does add something, but Ponce he is just a stock Mexican essentially he is like the Danny Trejo of boxing cards except less than that (at least Trejo has Machete on his resume where he was the main character).

On Mexican holidays it's pretty easy to please us yes. It's happy drunk time. Yes, there are always better fights but boxing is a business as organized by the people with money to make more money. They will milk it for as long as it takes! Relax, sit back and enjoy the show. ****, I would love to wake up one day with every one realizing that money is just paper so people can be respected for what they contribute to life besides money but don't see it happening.

Canelo already has 2,550,000 PPVs to his name and Lara is headlining an FS1 card on May 2nd, . Lara will be lucky to get 350 people to watch him fight on TV for free.

I actually like Danny Trejo, he deserves mad props for turning his life around like that and being as successful as he is. Machete and Machete Kills crack me up.
