Comments Thread For: Canelo's Manager: Lara on The Short List of Opponents

Late July is 12 weeks after Lara's bout vs Smith. I'm pretty sure many young, in shape fighters such as Lara (hell even 36 year old Stevenson did it last year) can fight 12 weeks after fighting a previous opponent.
And if it's a huge deal and Lara is "the guy" for this fight vs Canelo, then they can move it back 2-3 weeks to make it work.
I think the bottom line here is, if Lara performs well against Smith, we likely see him against Canelo. If he does not, we may still see him vs Canelo (as long as Lara wins), but the odds are slimmer and Canelo may take on a Charlo or a 160lb fighter at a catchweight.Comment

If Lara wants the Canelo fight as badly as he says he does, he will agree to the July 26th date. Getting all picky and choosy after all that crying about how Canelo is ducking him would be ridiculous.Comment

if the fight isn't signed, i could see lara going back on his word to fight canelo.
Just stay in the gym and try to stay sharp till its time for a full camp.

Canelo selling tickets by using superstar Lara's name. >__>... Canelo already had a date set I believe before Lara even had a fight... Blame Lara if he put himself outside the window. I dont think Canelo us ducking anyone he already went up against p4p#1. I honestly dont know if Lara beats Canelo but he is really the only challenger at 154 so to speak. Still, Lara needs to handle his business and make himself available. It's like Floyd and Pac calling each other out AFTER one signs a fight lol.Comment
