The way I say it is, theyre using his name to promote Canelo. I'll believe it when the fight is signed and sealed.

If Lara wants the Canelo fight as badly as he says he does, he will agree to the July 26th date. Getting all picky and choosy after all that crying about how Canelo is ducking him would be ridiculous.

I agree. For one, Lara should have sufficient time to prepare for a Canelo fight. For another, Landy would be an idiot to turn down the fight after asking for it. I think the Alvarez camp is serious about Lara being a top candidate. There really aren't many interesting fights at 154 for Saul.

Everyone knows Lara is not a big name.
But hardcore fans know who Lara is and people saw him challenge Canelo at the post-fight press conference.

Team Canelo may be saying Lara is a possibility to make it seem like Canelo is scared of nobody and take on all comers. Credibility is important too.

Or maybe they really want to make that fight.

why was lara asking for a fight knowing he has to fight on may??
cant believe excuses are already coming...
if lara doesnt take it on july, then november is cotto or maravilla, and lara will have to wait until march next year, dates are already set for a reason, canelo and floyd are fighting 2 months apart from each other, march, may, july, september, november... they are trying not to affect each others ppvs.. none of this will change just because of lara... if he gets an offer he better take it or go back in line...

Lara is fighting on may 2nd. The date is for July 26. How is that not enough time? It's plenty of time. Ishe Smith isn't exactly a big bruiser. Lara could take 3 weeks off and still have an 8 week camp.
