Marquez is a pretty average fighter(resume wise), yet he beat Pacquaio 4 /4 of times.

JMM isn't and never was "average".

Unlikeable and whiny at times yes, but average, never.
He was never average, but I've never considered him great. That's the takeaway but style make fights and Pac losing the 4th doesn't make him a journeyman...things happen in boxing and Pac is miles ahead of JMM legacy wise it's not even close.

There's no way a 40yrold fighter KO's a fighter like Manny, without something extra in him. That win will always have an asterisk by it and rightfully so.

        Some people are ******ed..

JMM is not a journeyman average fighter.

In the first fight.. JMM actually won more rounds than PAC.. This leads some people to think JMM "won" this fight because winning more rounds usually means you win the fight.. But then most guys aren't crawling out of a 3 knock down 1st round to win more rounds. But the 10 point must system is what it is and JMM didn't come all the way back from that 1st round hole.

The 2nd and 3rd fights were close with again maybe JMM edging it in the rounds won department but each time the Knock downs were the deciding factor.
Fair decisions and JMM doing a lot of whining.

The 4th fight was something completely different.. Pac was actually dominating JMM like he had never before.. But JMM sparked him twice and scored an emphatic stoppage.. Was JMM laying a trap? He sure was getting the crap beat out of him leading up to that punch..

This is one of the best rivalries in Boxing history.

I'm sorry but Pacquiao won at least 2 and put marquez through hell each time.

So much so that Marquez couldn't definitively beat him until the fourth fight.

lolz calling JMM pretty average is just wrong, he should be in everyones 100 ATGs...

imho regarding the first 3 fights arguablly PAC won them all albeit close contest, only the 4th's result can not be argued as Manny got KTFOED but you have to admit even the 4th was a close contest till the KO...

Jmm wasnt kd in the third fight, am I wrong? In fact I remember thinking jmm won that one. I agree with the first fight and the second eh, but jmm definitely won the 3rd. And I love how everyone tries to grow roses out of **** with that 4th fight...

I remember the bscene p4p list... and I paraphrase.. " manny had appeared to find some answers to the riddle of jmm... right was quick the left was sudden... and then bam out of nowhere a miracle punch!..

I have the series at 2 wins PAC, 1 for JMM, and 1 draw.
At best, I have it 2 wins for each ...2-2.

But JMM has the most definitive, memorable win. However, both were past their prime at the time of PAC-JMM 4.

PAC-JMM 2 is the fight to best show this matchup. They were both pretty PRIME at the time. Really close fight with high level boxing. I gave the fight to PAC due to the knockdown. The rounds were close.
PAC was the champ, scored the knockdown.. Decision goes to PAC.
