- 50 cent doesn't know shit about boxing, he thought he would have Floyd as his partner(face of company) for his promotional company but now he's stuck not knowing what the fuck he's doing. Not long ago he was named as some influential guy in Boxing by Clueless Iole, he was talking shit to DLH on twitter because he was supposed to be hot shit. Skip a year or so later and he hasn't done nothing besides some ESPN2 cards.
- Gamboa is fucked. He used to be exciting but moving up 2 weight divisions he has become boring and these long layoffs are making him irrelevant. If he was smart he would be fighting 3-4 times a year even on ESPN2-ShoBox-Germany so he could keep sharp and keep his name out there.
Bob Arum is doing damage control right now, HBO isn't buying the fight for the millions these guys want, even the big money that Garcia thinks he deserves. The truth is Garcia right now sounds like he wants easy paydays, he's gotten a lot of them on HBO so why stop now. Who can blame him though, that's what boxing is really about. Make the most money while getting beat up the least. Blame Arum and HBO for enabling through the years.
Imo they should do Garcia vs. Uchiyama and Gamboa vs. Beltran or Crawford.
Have the winners fight each other, that would be something to look forward to.
Any of the fights you mention would be good. It's just too bad that we're not getting Gamboa-Garcia. That's the fight everyone was worked-up for. A couple of people have suggested that there would be just as much interest in a Uchiyama fight. One of those guys started a poll, asking who would win, Mikey or Uchiyama. I think there were like nine replies, one of them complaining that the Gamboa fight wasn't happening. lol

I have been involved in this sport a long time, and I can tell you every trainer I talk to about Mikey tells me his use of timing and distance is second to none in the sport.
Of course he has weaknesses, like everyone else but let's not act as if he's just fighting cab drivers and HBO making him out to be something he's not. The kid is really, really good and on his way to being one of the best fighters in the world.

there is a wide world of difference between boxing and mma...the best fights the best in mma...this is not so in boxing...boxing fans are the victims of the promoters greed...

[QUOTE=Cuauhtémoc1520;14322395]Big star in comparison to Mayweather or Pac, no. Compared to Gamboa, yes and that's the point of the negotiations.
Top Rank has been going about it the wrong way imo, they keep putting him on the east coast where honestly nobody gives a shit about him. It's actually hurt his development as a draw.

What Im hearing is that Mikey Garcia isn***39;t happy with the $$ HBO is offering for a Gamboa fight. Also, another issue is that... #boxing

You can always trust Steve Kim to say exactly what Arum is thinking.
They say you every time Arum takes a piss Kim is there to shake his junk because Bob doesn't like piss on his slacks.

Does Robert really expect $4-5 million dollars for the Gamboa fight?
