Why in hell does cotto deserve to fight for a title at middleweight. He lost to trout and beat a nobody at 154. Crap fight.

Isn't he 2 -2 In his last 4 fights!!! And this is his first fight at this weight against one of the p4p best??

I can see why, Sergio is kinda pissed ... He's the Champ and getting second billing like he's the one challenging for the belt.

I hope Martinez f's him up...Martinez has been degraded too much throughout his career, he took the stage second with Chavez now with Cotto while being the lineal champion...I think these kind of things fire him up and motivate him to kick ass.

The only problem with that is Martinez knee is still a little tender & if he kicks to hard he might pop a blood vessel. So curb your enthusiasm..

Ehhhh.... I'm afraid Martinez is far from his best. Actually he is at his worst condition ever, old and with a bad knee injury. If he was at his best Cotto would have never agreed to fight him.

Not much of a size difference, not that it matters much anyway. This will be a great fight. Even if you believe Cotto will lose, you have to know it's going to be a competitive fight. Calling it a mismatch is lame. The problem with fight fans is that they all think they're fighters and they're not. Why does Cotto have to be forgiven by fight fans for taking a loss? He doesnt, he owes us nothing. Both these guys deserve this fight, they've given us their blood for years. Cotto wants it for legacy and glory, Martinez wants that too and deserves the pay day (it's over due). Cotto has never been owned by anyone (barring the Pacquiao fight, which was one sided a lot in the second half) he's always competitive. Personally I think Cotto will win this, I won't get into why because I've already done that in many previous threads. I just think calling this fight a mismatch is ignorant.
