loooooooooool, Cotto has no business fighting at 160

The year lay off and bum knee might even things out a little bit for Cotto but he's still biting off more than he can chew here.

Cotto has balls of steel though, can't take that away from him.

Imagine if our so called best in the world Floyd, and Manny, had the balls to go up to 160 and fight the only real champ there for the middleweight title!! Cotto is a throwback..The dude has fought everyone who stepped up and win or lose he was competitive. Props to a great fighter winding down his career and giving fans great fights.that said, he's gonna get destroyed if Sergio is even 80% of his old self and can move effectively around the ring.

This should be a good fight. Sergio is not a huge middleweight and Cotto is not that much smaller. If Cotto can cut the ring off effectively and pound the body it should be a good opportunity for him to win. If Sergio keeps him at range it will be a bad night for Cotto.

He wanted no part of Martinez when he was looking impressive as opposed to looking poor like he did in his last fight.

I'm starting to wonder if speed will be somewhat comparable in this one - obv Cotto prob can't stick around at 160 but..in this particular fight, it could be a surprise to Sergio how fast Cotto can be if he does retain some of his speed in going up. I know you're thinking how the hell is that going to happen when he looked slow and inaccurate as ever against Trout...but a pissed off Sergio will probably be willing to war a little bit more than austin was. I think he get some chances if he feels speedy on fight night. if not, i feel sorry for him

C'mon now, that was not Manny's toughest fine by a long shot, nor Floyd's. De La Hoya won 1-2 more rounds than Cotto (5 versus 3 or 4) and Castillo certainly was Floyd's toughest fight to date.

Cotto is a good fighter, very popular, but acting like he was within a hair of beating Floyd or Manny is a fairly large exaggeration.

The biggest question about this fight isn't really about who will win, it's more about if Martinez is in good shape and healthy. If he is, he should be a fairly big favorite at 159 lbs.

Martinez is going to beat him half to death, and it will serve him right. Because he has no business in the ring with Martinez at all. If he goes the distance, which I doubt, that would be a moral victory.
