The real question is can Alvarez become THE champ at 160?

I honestly feel Canelo at 5'7 is way too short for the middleweight division, he should stick to 154. I think he might even get embarrassed by a guy like Daniel Geale, who's big but has good speed, stamina and workrate.
alvarez islisted at 5'9" on boxrec http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...8759&cat=boxer

Canelo is still a work in progress, a product of aggressive marketing by GBP. He had no business being in the ring with Floyd, and would have lost the Trout fight if it weren't for the knockdown. His potential is undeniable but at this point in his career I'd favor Cotto or Martinez to beat him.

Alvarez has proven that he is very good against stationary targets. However, he has a lot of work to do against mobile targets. That's one of several reasons I favor Martinez over him.

lol it was clear canelo was not losing that fight unless he was getting knocked out. too much money riding on canelo to have trout spoil the floyd fight. in my opinion he almost did in my eyes, but not "officially"

Quillen and sturm are beatable for canelo

Serg/cotto if they are shopworn. Canelo has a good chance vs either

Ggg is all wrong for canelo.. Would be an exciting fight but I think canelo would get outgunned

Quillin in particular is very stationary. And we saw against Rosado that he doesn't like pressure. Alvarez probably walks Quillin down and beats him up.
