Will Canelo be a Champ at Middleweight?

Don't lie, he looked good tonight. MW is in shambles. Will he win a belt?

I'm kind of torn. He could beat Quillen and Rosado, and also get checked by them as well. He could beat K9. Some others I'm not thinking of.

    GGG is off limits.

It could probably be fixed for Canelo to win a HW title the way boxing works. I'm sure they can figure out a way to get him a belt. What if Cotto somehow beats Martinez? There you have it.. Canelo new MW champ.

I would like to see him try. He wants to fight the Cotto/Martinez winner, but if Sergio wins, I don't see how the match-up could occur because he's supposedly under contract with HBO.

Canelo vs. Quillin would be interesting.

Canelo vs Cotto/Martinez winner must happen, if not Lara.

I was shocked he didn't call ut Quillen. He'd beat him too.

Against a guy like Quillin, he could certainly win a belt. Alvarez's stamina, poor as it is, is far better than Quillin's. And size wise, they are about the same. Alvarez also might have a chance against Sturm, but that fight will never happen. I would need to see more of Sturm these days to come to a conclusion on how that fight would go. Golovkin and Martinez slaughter Alvarez, though.

With his body type, how young he is, and how good he looked tonight I would go out on a limb and say yes, possibly even SMW as well down the line. He isn't very tall but the kid is wide, he will thicken up as he ages and move up and I think he can grab a belt or two.

Looked good to me tonight, I'm not crowing him the undisputed 154 lb champ but he can definitely give anyone there a run for their money not named Floyd. He looked real good, very good combinations, his stamina looked better, he was moving good with his legs and his head and upper body.

This could happen sooner than later though, I imagine he will be gunning for the Martinez/Cotto winner and that will be Martinez. I think Martinez, even at his age with his injuries, could box this kids ears off. You never know though Canelo might get him out of there or just have the answer for his movement as well.

Probably the Middleweight division is incredibly weak, one of the weakest...and he should have no problem beating a belt holder.
