Again, people are missing the point that Hunter is making. He's not dissing as Chavez as an opponent, because the article actually finishes with him saying he wants Ward to fight them both (Jr AND GGG). He's just saying that it's awfully convenient that staying at 160 isn't that important when a Jr fight is available, as opposed to a Ward fight. It's not a great point but it's a fair point.

And Ward is willing to go down to 160 for Floyd but ggg and Sergio might not even get a CW offer. Cherrypicking?

Ward at this point cant fight the caliber fighters that CHavez or GGG have. He is held to a much higher standard. An undefeated top ten Edwin Rodriguez was considered a cherry pick for him.

Which is why they aren't going to fight Ward for peanuts. For those who keep crying resume, he needs someone like a Chavez so he can demand more at the negotiating table. It's not that their team is "ducking," but they don't want to risk losing without being properly compensated, which is a reasonable argument. I for one would love to see them fight regardless, but I can understand it from a business point of view.

Most difficult? Well ggg one ups him there since hes willing to go down to 154 for it, where Floyd is actually proven. See the difference?

So when is Ward fighting Klitschko? He did say he beats those guys. When can we expect it?

I'm not riding with Team Ward at all on this. Team GGG put it out there that 50/50 and they would be open to a Ward fight. Team Ward immediately came out and talked about Wards accomplishments, etc to make the case Ward was the bigger star and deserved the bigger share. The fact of the matter is Ward overvalues himself. Yes he is very accomplished and a top P4P guy but at the end of the day he walks around like he is a draw like a Chavez Jr when its clear as day he isn't. GGG fighting a bonafide draw in Chavez Jr more than likely is considerably more money than a less than 50% money fight with a guy who generates considerably less revenue in Ward. Team Ward seems to have a comment on every single move GGG does. They constantly bring him up as if to demand he fight them even though they don't want to split the pot down the middle. Lets face it GGG can fight anybody and he will generate high ratings on HBO because of his crowd pleasing style. Ward on the other hand is running out of opponents. It seems Ward needs GGG more than GGG needs him. Its no wonder they mention GGG every 5 seconds. If thats the case then be happy with splitting the pot down the middle or move up yourself to Light Heavyweight and fight Stevenson/Kovalev instead of expecting a MW to move up to fight you.

He's willing to go down to 160 not because the fight would be difficult but because the fight would pay him the most money he would ever make.

Just like GGG would go to 68 for a Chavez fight and make the most money he's ever made.

WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward revealed that he's considering a move up to light heavyweight real soon. He feels that it's tough for him to get big fights at super middleweight now, and will be speaking to his team about a move up in weight to 175.

Ward told Jim Lampley on his HBO Fight Game show last Saturday night "I don't think so [getting a fight with Sergio Martinez] for the moment due to the weight difference and size difference. All the talk from the Martinez camp is that Ward has to come down to 160. I think they mentioned 164. But I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be at super middleweight. For me to get down to 160 or 164, I wouldn't be any good at it. It wouldn't be good for my career.

So at the moment I don't realistically think that fight [against Sergio Martinez] is going to be made. I think I would be very strong at the weight [175]. I'm not even the biggest super middleweight, so I know the fighters at light heavyweight would be even bigger. But I know the ideal situation is to go to 175 and not come back down. There's not a lot of options at 168. So in the coming weeks my team and I need to put our heads together and get creative in terms of what's going to be next.”
