You can't successfully work your way up the lighter divisions without fighting an army of Mexicans, or boxers of Mexican descent. Joel's most notable wins over Mexicans were Robert Garcia (for the 130 title) and Diego Corrales (Casa won 2/3, scoring one KO). Or, should I say, to use your term, he "beat their a$$es?" There were also lesser wins: Leyva (20-1), Vargas (23-3) and Arias (33-2-1).

Casamayor and JMM are only two years apart, but everyone ages differently. Marquez is still fighting at the highest levels at age 40, which is unusual. By the time those two fought, Joel was on his way out. But it wasn't a bad performance by a fading fighter against a future ATG who would later climb to higher weights.

I hate getting into these skirmishes, but I thought I'd balance the scales a little bit.

There is no shame in that, who's it bothering? What it seems to me is you keep justifying our current crop of ranked fighters not facing each other by bringing up the past. How many times do you have to mention that Casa lost to JMM? It's not really working for you. A ducks a duck my friend. A statement like that tells me a lot about your mind-set. I love Mexico and Mexican people in general. It's just guys like you and your boy that get on my nerves. "Sugar" and "Mantequilla" went over to Mexico because Castro came into power. They had to go someplace to fight. They were appreciative that Mexico took them in.
