Trying To Understand Mayweathers Use Of Testosterone Replacement Therapy

I don't find the reporter's question as being suggestive of Mayweather taking TRT. He merely asked Floyd what he thinks of TRT. He said nothing about Floyd using it himself. Mayweather has talked about "cleaning up boxing", so it would be assumed that he knows of the various PEDs being used or rumored to be used in the sport. For him to refuse any more interviews with this reporter because of that question raises some eyebrows.Or maybe Floyd was so offended by the mere suggestion that he was roiding that he didn't want to see the reporter again.
You know, just like how Manny was so offended by the PED allegations in 2009 that he didn't take the test, because it was outrageous to even suggest that he was roiding. Right? Wasn't this his main excuse for balking at OST?Comment

I'm not a fanatic Mayweather fan by any means, but if you post something about any fighter as inflammatory as possible PED use, please post a reference link to support it.so lemme get this straight..
floyd uses xylocaine in vegas bc its a nerve blocker for his damaged hands, okay thats fine. but floyd also uses testosterone replacement therapy (which'll be evident if he doesnt fight in vegas vs maidana) and manny doesnt use trt (which'll be evident if he does fight in vegas vs bradley)?.. but yet floyd accuses manny of using substances to the point of a lawsuit? albeit, all money team promoted fighters are being caught w banned substances. meanwhile, floyds "cleaning the sport"?
i know floyd has the stereotype of contradicting himself but SERIOUSLY, WTF IS GOING ON HERE?! someone clear this up for me bc somewhere im lost in translation, i cant correlate how these scenarios make any sense.Comment

I love these threads - bring on the spurious accusations against Mayweather, give the scumbag a taste of his own medicine.
I'll make a more serious point through a couple of questions.
1. Do you think boxing has a steroid problem?
If you don't, please put your head back in the sand. However, if you do think boxing has a steroid problem, go to question 2 below
2. Is it likely that whilst most other boxers are very probably juicing, that the number 1 fighter, closer to 40 then 30 years of age, who hasn't been an active fighter since he hit his 30s, and generates the most money in the sport, is gonna be clean? When it's pretty obvious that drug testing ain't worth a ****, Floyd is gonna allow himself to play it clean whilst his peers and opponents are likely juicing?
Floyd "Moral" Mayweather?
Are you out of your ****ing mind?Comment

There is a video of him getting injections of xylocaine before a fight for his hands but that was done with all parties involved aware of the situation with his brittle hands at the time. I dont think it was illegal though I dont know. It is not a PED.Last edited by richardt; 03-04-2014, 02:03 PM.Comment

I don't think boxers juice as much as you think. It seems like 90% f the time when someone gets busted it's diuretics.I love these threads - bring on the spurious accusations against Mayweather, give the scumbag a taste of his own medicine.

Boxing while corrupt, doesn't seem like a steroid/hgh ridden sport like say Football, UFC, pro wrestling.
Id put it more in line with basketball as far as PED's. Muscle density truly has nothing to do with anything in boxing. Obviously different form of enhancing drugs exist, but the average juicer looks unaturally jacked. Look at some of the guys in the UFC who are known TRT or gt busted for steroids.
And regarding Mayweather, unless all his testing BS is some elaborate scheme to hide his wrong doings (which is very conspiracy theory-esk) I don't think he is juicing.Comment

“One of the reasons I don’t work with him [Ariza] anymore is he’s a little shady,” Roach said to Radio Raheem. “He used to give Manny a drink before workouts, and I asked him what was in the drink and he would never tell me. I told him I need to know what was in the drinks because you’re giving it to my fighter.
And if something goes wrong, I’m going to get the blame. So in my opinion, he’s a little shady. So he’s in that champ [Brandon Rios] now and it doesn’t surprise me that [Rios testing positive for a banned substance] happened.”Comment

Great chefs don't give out their recipes either. Why would a man who makes his living off of nutrients and having his athlete in top shape give out his secrets?“One of the reasons I don’t work with him [Ariza] anymore is he’s a little shady,” Roach said to Radio Raheem. “He used to give Manny a drink before workouts, and I asked him what was in the drink and he would never tell me.
