Floyd has been accused of roiding for years now (by the same people who insist that Manny is squeaky clean because he has never failed a test), but the "evidence" offered has never gone beyond typical internet BS.

I'm not a Floyd fan by any stretch but I don't know of any instance where he's been caught or admitted to taking TRT

Does anyone know the restrictions and the rules on the the****utic TRT usage? Are there cutoff ratios? Weren't there already cutoff ratios in place WITHOUT the use of TRT?

The UFC is a privately held corporation that regulates it's promotion of MMA. Maybe regulates is the wrong word I'm looking for here.

            But anyway...

Is a TRT exemption something that would even have to be made public per the NSAC?? If it is for the****utic use, then isn't that a private medical practice that is protected by law?

Just because the UFC chooses to make public its fighters who partake in this practice, doesn't necessarily mean OTHER promotional companies offer up the same information to the public. GBP, Mayweather Promotions.

Dr. Tim Trainor, a consulting physician for the commission, who gave the most damning testimony.

Trainor noted that primary and secondary hypogonadism can indeed cause a need for testosterone replacement. But he said that with known steroid users, there is no way to know for sure if they truly need the therapy or if the damage done by taking anabolic steroids caused it. He also said that, while he could not offer an exact estimate, he suspected less than one percent of the earth's population has legitimate hypogonadism and requires treatment.

Or maybe Floyd was so offended by the mere suggestion that he was roiding that he didn't want to see the reporter again.

You know, just like how Manny was so offended by the PED allegations in 2009 that he didn't take the test, because it was outrageous to even suggest that he was roiding. Right? Wasn't this his main excuse for balking at OST?

Q: I read that fighters don't even get informed if their opponent is taking TRT, is that true?

A: Generally, yes. When a fighter receives a the****utic use exemption for any substance, it is treated as a confidential medical issue. Different states and commissions may have different procedures for how medical issues are handled.
If I was a manager of a fighter and concerned with PED abuse, I might prefer to fight Vitor Belfort on a TUE, if in a major jurisdiction, due to the amount of testing and scrutiny that Belfort will be subject to. Belfort is very likely to be drug tested far more and scrutinized much closer than any other fighter. The issue is to ensure adequate drug testing for all contestants along with rigorous requirements and adequate monitoring of those with TRT TUE's.

Here's the thing. Are there guys trying to cheat by doing TRT? Probably, but in the jurisdiction of a competent commission, he's running a huge risk of getting caught. A much higher risk than if he just cycled steroids without ever trying to get a TUE. Handled properly, there's no advantage for a guy taking TRT. There just isn't.
