not really sure what the op is trying to say ... yeah he's good but he's not SRR or anything ... why argue over semantics he's not B he's B+ etc? ... we have seen his limits ... he'll come up short against the elite but can beat most contenders etc ... he put on a great show last night and turned back the clock -cool, I was rooting for him, but he ain't gonna do anything ground breaking from here ... might win a few defenses but if he steps up against one of the elites he will come up short ... we know all this about him already...
Arthur Abraham is so underrated

The thing here is, that many people don't know **** about Arthur. I often hear 2 things:not really sure what the op is trying to say ... yeah he's good but he's not SRR or anything ... why argue over semantics he's not B he's B+ etc? ... we have seen his limits ... he'll come up short against the elite but can beat most contenders etc ... he put on a great show last night and turned back the clock -cool, I was rooting for him, but he ain't gonna do anything ground breaking from here ... might win a few defenses but if he steps up against one of the elites he will come up short ... we know all this about him already...
1 - He was a good MW, but not a good SMW.
2 - He sucks and is too limited.
Regarding point 1, yeah, he was better as a MW. But he was not BAD as a SMW, in fact, he is one of the best SMW in the world. Definitely in the top 10. How can he be a bad SMW if only the elite SMW can beat him? Stieglitz did have a victory against him and he looked lazy against Shiheppo, but he avenged the Stieglitz loss in big style. So no, Arthur is NOT bad SMW.
Point 2... Yeah, he's kinda limited, even though he did show impressive skills against Stieglitz. But he is not so limited that he is unable to beat any non-elite SMW, so to say he sucks is just ******.
AA is criminally underrated.Last edited by Xpert; 03-03-2014, 04:48 AM.Comment

He's rated where he should be rated which is a couple of levels below the elite at 168.
Him and Steiglitz should just fight each other for the rest of their careers with that worthless belt on the line.Comment

I suppose he's an okay fighter but a B-level fighter at best. When he stepped up to A-level competition with Froch and Ward, he lost. At 34 years of age, what does he have left?Comment

Well. There are still some known names that he is able to beat, I would like to see him do that.Comment

Abraham turned it all completely around in one fight. One fight. You don't see that very often. It's one of the more impressive comebacks I've seen in a good while.
Might have been his last gasp though. He's in a sorts of strange territory at this point. It'll be interesting to see what he gets himself into next.Comment

He's a good fighter, just not a Super Middleweight. He obviously doesn't belong there. His biggest win at 168 is a fellow 160 fighter that had just moved up and beat Lacy the got KO'ed by Froch, i'm talking about Taylor.
At 160, if Abraham could have still made the weight, he'd have been a beast. At 168 he is not much of a beast. His height, reach, low activity style is better suited for 154-160, but unfortunately for him he is just too big for 160. At 168 every one is taller, have better reach, are more active, can take his punches better. He's just not a SMW. And I know it's not all about height and reach but at 5' 9" 72" reach combined with his style, 168 is too much for him.
Look at the other 5' 9" fighters, the majority of them reside at 140-154. Even at 160 the top 10 guys there have a few inches on Abraham. I know we can bring up how Tyson, Byrd and Jones fought at HW being shorter than the average HW, but look at Abraham's style compared to there's. That's what I mean about height/reach in relation to style. He just doesn't have a style that can compensate for his physical disadvantages.Comment

That fight was very impressive. I do believe that he's at the end of the line, but I can still see him take one or two more big victories, unless he steps down in competition now.Abraham turned it all completely around in one fight. Abraham was a beast at 160, his power was ridiculous. Just didn't carry over to 168, which is probably the strongest in all of boxing. I laugh when people think the current 160lb fighters could beat him, 168 is on a whole other level.Comment

He would beat the **** out of Golovkin, lol, I also laugh when people say Golovkin would beat him. I think Arthur would be able to force a late stoppage on Golovkin. A good fight I would love to see, but anyone who knows anything about boxing would agree that Arthur would win against Golovkin, unless too shot. No 160lb fighters could beat Arthur, he's used to fighting bigger opponents on a higher level now.Comment
