Overhyped by some of his moronic fanbois? Sure.
Hypejob? OP must be a troll.
Kid fights for a title in his second pro fight against a very crafty veteran that outweighs him by 11lbs. Not only is he fighting the crafty vet, but the perhaps the worst ref currently working as well. Got hit in the nuts a zillion times, but gets called for holding.
He did well in dropping a split decision under those circumstances, imo.
Did he bite off a little too much for his second fight? Maybe, but he made a fan out of me last night.

Why do people keep bringing up Salido's weight? Dude rehydrated 19lbs, that is not healthy, he came in 2lbs overweight.
In fact that is the only reason Loma had a chance at the end.
First 2 rounds were toss up rounds, after that Salido adjusted and stalked Loma the rest of the fight. By the 9th or 10th Salido was exhausted, and it wasn't because Loma actually did anything, it was because he was weight drained. It was clear when Salido fell down and took forever to get up.
Loma was pretty much a punching bag the entire fight, Salido tired out and Loma finally came on.
If Salido comes in shape he absolutely dominates that fight, instead we saw a slow, tired, past his prime fighter.
Loma looked horrible in there.

This is why guys are built up over 15-20 fights,,,
I dont care how much amateur success you have, its very different in the pros, as lomo found out..
Had he went the normal path and took 10 fights before salido, i think lomo would have done much better and probably beat salido...
Lomo needed to fight a few more guys like he did in his debut, and maybe jorge arce, and juanma, then look at salido after about 8-10 fights...
He looked very green at the pro level

Lomachenko was definetly overhyped going into the fight. His inexperience was blatant in the first 6 rounds. But fighting salido essentially gave him the experience of 15 pro fights imo. Salido has that wolverine blood and is the truth shower. Lomachenko came out of the 12th round waaaaay better than he did coming into the 1st.
Lomachenko will come back stronger and with a vengeance count on it.

He looked small compaired to Salido not just height but general stature. Obv Salido came in heavy on purpose..
He doesnt seem like a big puncher. Small flashy combos just arent going to cut it in the pro game.. He got that match all wrong, and he didnt seemed to be bothered either when interviewed.
And the thing is Salido looked crap, hit and hope most of the match.
For Lomachenko to become good, he needs to use range and speed in and out. He's going to be a 12rnd ud style of fighter, so pretty boring.
Cant see many people paying **** loads to watch him imo..

I think he looked greatly inexperienced on the big stage vs salido, but i think he still showed alot, and with a few more fights, will be able to contend for a title
