Martinez is now 40yrs old. Not the same fighter and Deft more the same chin. . Try again
No way Cotto will hit harder as guys like Pavlik and Chavez. Roach said that the plan is for Cotto to come in at 155 lbs. You think a 155 lb Cotto hits harder than the 180 lb Pavlik and 180+ lb Chavez? Chavez didn't just land one punch the entire fight and hurt Martinez with it. Nothing Chavez landed in the first 11 rounds hurt Martinez. It took a haymaker right from Chavez to hurt Martinez. Cotto at middleweight won't be near as effective as Chavez and Pavlik. At middleweight, those two fighters are better than Cotto in all likelihood.

No surprise the Cotto nuthugging brigade is in full squeeze them nuts mode. Funny they're not saying anything about the catch weight.

No way cotto comes in fight night 155 and even a 155 cotto might still have more power than both pavlik and Chavez. Floyd himself whose been I'm with the best of the best said cotto is the strongest and hardest puncher he's faced. In addition, both pavlik n Chavez combined don't have the boxing skills that cotto have. Comparing Chavez boxing skills to cotto is like comparing Jordan to jeff hornesack

It's absolutely absurd to suggest that Cotto is a bigger puncher than Chavez and Pavlik. Cotto has shown that he's an above average puncher at 154. Pavlik and Chavez have shown the ability to hurt and knockout middleweights. Cotto's a good boxer, but he's displayed certain weaknesses that Martinez can exploit. The Trout fight laid out the blueprint on how to beat Cotto. Martinez will fire that straight to the body just like Trout did. He'll move just like Trout did. He'll jab just like Trout did. He'll smother on the inside just like Trout did. And he'll do all of it better than Trout did. What gameplan would be best for Cotto to use to beat Martinez, in your opinion?

I can sense their doubt with Martinez health thru this statement. They are trying to build confidence.

Cotto needs to test those knees EARLY... body shots and knee checks while on the inside.

I don't think this fight will be a war. I see this as a very technical match that will go to the cards. I think that, to be successful, Cotto will have to rely a lot on his sharp jab because he does not really have a very effective straight right, which is the effective punch against a lefty. Anyway, I see this fight being technical with some moments of action throughout.

                  I got Cotto by decision.

So in other words, Cotto needs to cheat to win? And good luck to Cotto landing bodyshots on Martinez. It's not easy.

This is truly laughable at best!

Sergio could beat MC with a "wooden leg, & a kickstand".
                      N/C, a whitewash.
MC is a shopworn fighter. Just a tune-up, or a cherry picking layup for Martinez.
Let Sergio get a huge payday. He deserves one.
Hell, FMJ is giving guys paydays, I hope one day he gives Sergio one too.
matter of fact, I hope Sergio looks bad against GGG. Maybe FMJ might think he has a chance like MC.
                      LOL
