If Lomachenko doesn't KO salido early, he's in for a crude awakening. Salido has a decade of experience at the championship level. Sure Lomachenko's am record is just out of this world but being a pro at the championship level is different. You not only need skill but you need to be experienced, you need to know what is like to dig deep in the 9th or 10th round to come out strong in the championship rounds. No amateur is prepared for that in their second pro fight.
Salido is no pushover and he's a seasoned vet, if he takes Loma to the deep waters he'll drown him.Comment

He may be a Top 5 fighter in the Top Rank stable, but not in the P4P rankings. Winning one fight against a journeyman does not make you a top 5 fighter. Even if he defeats Orlando Salido, that still doesn't warrant placing him in the Top 100 P4P. This guy won 300 fights as an amateur and won two Olympic gold medals. However, how much credit can you give an Olympic gold medalist who is 23-24 years old and earns that medal by beating up on 17-18 year old kids who are fresh out of high school.
As long as he is in Arum's stable, he will look like a beast because Arum will protect him and pit him against the right competition. However, Arum can't protect him forever and as soon as he gets in the ring with a quality fighter, he will be exposed as a rookie who is in over his head.Comment

Then what a fall he will suffer on Saturday night when he goes from top 5 to NOTHING lol! 1-1(1KO)Comment

All these promoters make me want to puke whenever they open their damn mouths Schaefer, Arum, Hearn, etc. At least King was entertainingComment

No way will Arum put his protected future star in the ring with Rigondeaux, even though Lomachenko would have a size advantage. If Rigondeaux made Donaire look like an amateur, imagine what he will do to Lomanchenko.Comment

I disagree. For guys like Lomachenko and Rigondeaux, there's no need to fight 20-30 fights against tomato cans before stepping it up. I look at guys like GGG and Deontay Wilder and it just makes me sick. If you've competed internationally as an amateur. It makes absolutely no sense to waste years and years padding a record against guys who aren't as good as most of the people you fought as an amateur.Last edited by big_james10; 02-26-2014, 03:35 PM.Comment

YEs is possible. In Arums game Salido is an slow fighter suitable for Loma winning by UD. He is strong, with courage but slow and no defense. The opposite of Rigo, who has speed and precision and is not good for Loma to easy win. Of course, any fighter can make a surprise and Salido have a possibility to win, but in Arums calculation is more probable that Loma win than the oppositeComment

Rigo to me and most people is a top 10-12 PFP fighter who has beaten champs and another PFP star. Lom has beaten one lower level contender. Lom has not proven to be in the same class and until he gets those type of fights, he wont be considered in that same class before he has actually done it. They could be moving Lom too fast. Not every fighter is a Rigo or Fenech who can do so much so early. Many have burned out too soon.Comment

bob must not be reading NSB, because one person literally was already predicting lomanchenko to pass SRR as the GOAT. completely seriousComment
