Comments Thread For: Arum Already Considers Lomachenko 'Top 5' In The World

One fight into his very promising professional career, promoter Bob Arum already considers Vasyl Lomachenko one of the world’s best boxers.

“I think Lomachenko is among the top five best fighters in the world now,” Arum said. “I think he is fantastic. I know his preparation is fantastic. I think Lomachenko will be a major, major star. As good as Gennady Golovkin is, which he is, as good Provodnikov is, which he is, Lomachenko will out-shine them all. He is absolutely phenomenal.”

If that be the case, make the Rigondeaux fight after Lomachenko takes care of business this weekend.

Top five and he's fought less than 4 pro rounds.......yeahh. Arums got his guys fighting for belts way too soon. There used to be a time when you had to fight your way to be a contender, not go off your amateur record. I can't wait till Shiming fights somebody with a pulse.

Arum won't do anything who can favor Rigo. He hates Rigo and it seems to be building a new cash cow in Lomachenko because he is picking slow fighter who are suitable to Lomachenko. Also he will protect Lomachenko from someone who really can destroy his investment.

If this mofo whoops Salido, I could see him being top 5 pretty soon.

It is completely impossible to handpick Orlando Salido to make any inexperienced fighter look good.

Its bad enough ring was ranking canelo and broner p4p. It was disgusting that Lampley put GGG in his top 5. THis is worse than both. I mean I get Bob ishyping his guy but geez.

But this has been a trend recently. I remember Harrison Barnes was voted a pre season 1st team all american before he even played a college game.

I think this fight could backfire but salido is certainly no rigo and yes slowed down considerably. It's still a risk tho but certainly calculated. Now throwing lomachenko to rigo? That's high risk no reward. I think that's what the guy above was saying which is kinda true.
