    Good fight if it happens.

Matthysse is not getting knocked out, but I can see him losing. Thurman is just more versatile, he can fight and box. Matthysse's footwork is almost non-existent. He has the footwork of a power puncher, just has them planted at all times ready to throw bombs, and that's it. Big mistake against the A level guys or a guy who can move like Thurman. Couldn't even really beat an old, small Judah like that.

actually a duck is when you dont fight someone because they are too good, not fighting someone because you have a chance of fighting someone even better is the opposite of a duck.

most people dont know what a duck is though, they think any time a fighter has a chance to fight someone and chooses not to its a duck. but you can only fight one opponent at a time, if you are taking the toughest possible fight you are not ducking anyone, common sense really.

when i first heard this news i thought keith thurman but thinking more and more about it even though lucas is moving up 7 pounds he is still going to have some of that power. these 2 guys are likely the biggest punchers anywhere near WW besides Maidana. You'd likely give the edge to Thurman because of the weight advantage but atleast at this point in the game Matthysse has the experience. Both are intelligent pressure fighters. this would be an absolute can't miss war. surefire fight of the year if it comes off. hell i'd buy this ppv even if floyd was fighting malignaggi just for this fight. actually i shouldn't say that gal gaymon might hear me and make it happen. lucas puts people to sleep with his shots. at WW the power advantage for thurman wouldn't be great if it is there at all. and lucas isn't exactly physically weak either even though he will be the smaller guy.

thurman called out maidana after alexander, would've been a bad choice, and no one knew who he was at that time.
I was emphasizing on the Thurman call out from before as i know the one in December was useless for Maidana as he got in to Floyd contention. I shouldve said "didnt" want none instead "dont".

At the time Maidana too was at a career low and beating a prospect wouldve put'em up there.

Thurman didn't exactly look that great against a similar Argentinian in Chaves a couple fights ago. Soto-Karass buckled him hard.

Matthysse's better than both those guys. Thurman would, rightfully IMO, be the favorite, but I'll pick Matthysse to win.

I wouldn't have him as favourite. Lucas has better pedigree. This is a step-up too far for Keith, if anything.

He's the bigger man and a beltholder a division above, so I understand why he would be the favorite.
