I don't know what to think about this one. Burns sux and I'm not sold on Crawford. And personally, I don't think there's a chance in hell that Burns would have taken this fight if they felt Crawford was a legitimate threat. He ducked Broner like a plague. Either Burns' folks are cashing him out. Or Arum is throwing Crawford to the wolves. Either way, I'm expecting some funny business one way or another.

24-7, from arrival to departure, maybe on the same jet plane to Scotland (cany Scotts). I know I keep saying it, but Crawford doesn't inspire that kind of confidence. He waits to much, but maybe he hasn't fired on all eight yet. All I know is, he better KO Burns and keep the riot small. A decision win after a brutal beating, and they might burn down the town.

I've never been up to Scotland to watch a fight. But i was sat with a load of Burns fans a few years back when he was on a card in Liverpool.
They sure can create an atmosphere.

Burns will lose within the distance. He's nothing special and will acutally make Crawford look really good

Crawford's signature win is against Breidis Prescott. A guy Kevin Mitchell beat easily, and Burns smashed him in 4 rounds. Paul McCloskey beat Prescott ffs.

Crawford is stepping up to a level he's never been at, in an arena with noise that he will never have encountered before, and he's hasn't even fought a 12 round contest yet. He is going to be overwhelmed and outworked by Burns.

Hats off to him for taking on the challenge, but he's bitten off more than he can chew.

Don't write Burns off in this fight yet. He is a lot better than he looked in his last two defences. Gonzales was a nightmare opponent. Virtually unknown and about 200% better than anyone expected him to be.
Burns' jaw was broken in the second round against Beltran. I saw a photo of the Xray and it was no hair-line fracture, the side of his jaw was in two pieces.
Yeah, the decision stank, but it must have taken incredible heart and fortitude to go ten rounds with an injury like that and keep it anywhere near close.
From what I've seen and read of Crawford, he's a very slick boxer but no KO artist. If he can't stop or shake Burns, Ricky will just keep coming and throwing all night. With the home crowd behind him, that might be enough.

Good post. It's absurd how much Crawford is being overrated, and how many people are writing Burns off. Wonder how many posters have only seen Burns' last fight. So-called boxing enthusiasts, SMH.

I've seen Burns multiple times. He sux. There's a reason why he ducked Adrien Broner twice. He's not a good fighter. That said, I agree that Crawford is a tad overrated from what I've seen. Sometimes you gotta read between the lines. Bob Arum is allowing a kid that at one time was getting a major push from HBO to go overseas in a non-televised fight. That tells me all I need to know about what the folks at TR think about Crawford. Best case scenario for Bob is that Crawford goes over, wins a belt, and keeps it warm for Mikey. If he goes over a gets robbed, he's established as a legit lightweight. Much like Groves at 68. If he goes over and is soundly beaten. Bob starts the process of cutting ties and he's likely in a crossroads fight before year's end.
