LOL Mayweather canīt defeat Sergio at 159, he is too small for fighting at that weight and he will never do it.

At 154 lbs is a different story of course

I voted Martinez wins. It's a close fight that Mayweather could win but Martinez has very good speed, skills and power and a big weight and size advantage. This is the second thread about a fantasy fight involving Martinez at a catch weight of 159 pounds. What is the point of having Martinez fight at 159? Why not just have the fight at the middleweight limit of 160. Martinez fights just as well at 159 as he does at 160 so 159 doesn't handicap Martinez at all. He has weighed less than 159 for all his middleweight fights and weighted under 157 when he KOed Williams. Mayweather made Canelo go down to a weight limit of 152 so he would not likely agree to fight Martinez at any weight over 152.

nah. sergio fights with his hands down and that lets mayweather throw that lead right. martinez would have to fight this one coming forward i think. arms down and coming forward, mayweather adjusts and dictates the pace. lead right all day. especially now.

Floyd had his share of opportunities to fight relatively riskier fights like Martinez but Floyd didn't even attempt to make it a possibility ..... only against those opponents that he stood a good chance to beat!

If Floyd thought that he could beat Martinez then that fight would have been made already but Floyd doesn't think he had the odds in his favor so he was very ver quiet when Martinez called him out ..... on the other hand, Floyd said yes to Marquez even though there were way better options available, with no problem!

Floyd will (rightfully) avoid Martinez forever. Floyd aint ever getting that Middleweight title.

He wouldn't have beaten the Martinez that was calling him out 2 years ago. He would have a decent chance against the shot Martinez of today, however.

Assuming Martinez is healthy, he would have the height, reach, and footspeed (Floyd doesn't move as much anymore) advantage. Martinez, who fights on the backfoot, would force Mayweather to lead, which is a big part of what makes this fight so interesting. Martinez also has a quick laser jab and Mayweather's guard is vulnerable to quick well-timed jabs (see Cotto/DLH fights). Martinez's size, speed and power would also factor in.

We'll see how Sergio looks on June 7th, if he looks close to his prime then I would definitely put my money on him to beat Mayweather (not that they'd ever fight--although theoretically they could after Sergio's HBO contract ends).

Hbo knew the deal, Floyd would not fight a risky fighter.

Can Floyd beat Sergio at 159, no, but ask me if he can beat him at 159.5 and i'll say yes.
