he's alright...people are forgetting that darchinyan came into that fight well prepared and fought really good. he would've given any featherweight on that night a tough fight so i don't know where is this soul-taking that donaire suffered from his previous fight is coming from.
Ive Never Seen A Soul/Mind Taken Like Nonito's......damn

Only other examples I can think of that went to that extent were Barrera-Naz, Hopkins-Trinidad/Pavlik.
But Donaire's soul was taken by Rigo before the fight was even signed. That's what made this one the worst one that I can think of right nowComment

The problem with Nonito is he fell in love with his power. He thought he could finish everyone with it. He actually started declining in skill before Rigo. His fight with Mathebula was really, really close. He kept looking for that 1 punch KO. Now Rigo has made him lose all confidence in himself.
I have never understood this or him as a fighter. I had that razor close, I think the knockdown took it (or there about)
He was getting outboxed and I think in about the 9th he started using his jab and not only did he have a decent jab everything flowed off it and he was able to land his power shots.
Why the hell is a guy with a jab like that neglecting it? If he just used it he'd have so much more success instead he literally banks on that left hook.Comment

I don't think Rigo has ruined him like I said prior to that fight Nonito is simply a limited fighter. Not saying he isn't good but he has a limited skillset.
You take away that left hook and he hasn't much to offer.
Mathebula showed this, hell even Vasquez did for most part as did Narvaez.
Okay the latter two barely won a round but they showed his limitations.
Vic in the rematch fought a great aggressive yet calculated fight. I had him comfortably winning until he got maybe got a little bit sloppy and walked into one.
I don't understand how him being left hook happy wasn't obvious to everyone before. Clear as day to me Rigo would take it away and have a field day with him.Comment

all i remember was nonito's boys on here saying a 39 year old nishioka who was out for a year had a better chance at beating nonito than rigondeaux did. aswell as justifying that mathebula and arce were decent match ups. nonito was definately shook by rigondeaux as he said he was gunna move up after capturing all the titles apart from the one rigondeaux held at the time. but tbh i like nonito and he didnt duck and actually gave us what we wanted and even though he came short on the night i respect him because he didnt duck.Comment

Tell me about it. Donaire is a frustrating fighter to be a fan of.I have never understood this or him as a fighter. I had that razor close, I think the knockdown took it (or there about)
