BoxingScene.com reported earlier today that WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (23-1, 20KOs) retained the services of very influential boxing adviser Al Haymon. Stevenson will be back in action on May 24th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. He will face top contender Andrzej Fonfara.

HBO, who Stevenson has a multi-fight deal with, wants him to take part in a unification fight with WBO champion Sergey Kovalev (23-0-1, 20KOs), who faces Cedric Agnew on March 29th.

Stevenson is deluded if he thinks he is earning anything close to Mayweather for the Kovalev fight or any other fight.

This fight doesn't have nearly the same buzz as Danny/Lucas.

But, I do think he deserves $1 million for fighting Kovalev. As does Kovalev.

I think Rodriguez got 1 million for that fight as well, so Stevenson and Kovalev should def get more.

Stevenson and Kovalev both deserve twice as much each. These fighters risk their lives for our entertainment, they should be compensated fairly for such an endeavor.
