Golovkin is from another country, yet Americans (even California residents) like him more than Ward.

It's obvious why: Golovkin is a fearless warrior, who travelled to several other countries to fight. Ward refused to leave the USA during the Super Six.

Golovkin goes out and tries to knock his opponents out, while Ward's tactics are to head butt and clamp his opponents' arms (both illegal) and win a decision.

Golovkin is the more entertaining fighter and a better man in every way than the boring prima donna Ward.

You mean because he's from Kazakhstan? I think most people are not so ignorant.

I see he's higher than Ward on most P4P lists now.

yea but everyone hates ward so that's no excuse. a boring cheater should be boo'd wherever he goes. people in the bay area accept him because he's all that they have unfortunately. if someone who was good and exciting and didn't cheat came along they would drop him like a bad habit.

          • Are you kidding me? It's almost like asking whose style is more fan friendly, Mayweather or Pacquiao?

            It's GGG no contest.

            • That's easy, GGG most people prefer to see action, knockouts

              • it all depends on the fan and what they are looking for, GGG will get the majority of the votes but people who watch boxing as a coach and technical critique will say ward

                  • saying you enjoy watching wards style vs golovkins is like saying you watch hockey...not for the frantic pace, devastating hits or pure speed...but to see how slick the ice is.

                    • For a fan of boxing, both have appreciable styles. Ward is of the Cuban-style "hit and don't get hit" school of boxing fancied by Virgil Hunter. GGG comes from that technical, minimal-wasted-movement soviet school, combined with Mexican come-forward aggression.

Personally, GGG's style is more entertaining. who doesn't love a good KO?
