  • The stoppage was premature, but Tureano was out on his feet. He would have been stopped a few seconds later IMO.
He took too much risks in the last round.

Stevens is definitely not top 10 at 160 (for those who didn't know)
I can't believe GGG fought this guy.

But you get what I'm saying though. dude was in the last minute of the last round and it looked like the ref was quick to jump in.
He was quick to stop it because he was knew he had the opportunity to save Stevens. He bent over after a series of unanswered punches and was hurt, I guess technically you can say he wasnt defending himself. It was almost like Molina against Demarco. Molina had his hands up but he was bent over on the ropes not doing anything.

          • BJ Flores is an underrated commentator. I thought he did an excellent job commentating on the inside fighting.

Johnson did not move his head on the inside. That was emphasized. So Stevens had several opportunities for left hooks.

            • He was hurt a few times & came back stronger. Wicked shot initially but I think his head cleared & the final flurry all missed.

I mean what can you do? Instantly take a knee the second you get visibly hurt?

Damn good fight though, Tureano will be back, he is a machine.

If it was earlier in the fight and it ended like that I would have been outraged. Late in a long fight it does not bother me as much.

That's what I saw he was out of it, could it of gone on longer yeah but don't get your head almost separated from your body and you won't have that issue.

Ref was clearly on Stevens side, but that's boxing for you.
I really didn't think Stevens was throwing that much as Compubox was saying. He threw some nice counters which I'm sure rattled Johnson at points... but dude got outworked. it was like for every counter he threw, Johnson threw like 10 more and negated Stevens for another 20 seconds.

That's me. If he landed more counters or threw more, I'd find rounds for Stevens.... but Johnson straight outworked him for me.

                    That's me
